[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this product because most of the seed does germinate. I planted last fall and most came up before the snow. This spring the other areas are also filling in. Like what I'm seeing so far.

Great for new grass

I just bought a new house and the lawn was horible half grass half weeds ect. So i rototilled and found the soil was pretty rocky amd mostly clay so i put 50 bags of scotts topsoil down (which ive heard alot of bad about but havent seen any weeds or glass or whatever ppl say thats in there) retilled it and layed the seed down and followed it with scotts food for new grass. This was the first time ive ever messed with yard work and 4 days in i had srpouts atleast 50 in 1 sq ft amazing its day 5 and ive seen more germination. I read alot of bad reviews but it has to be how u take care of the seeds after there layed i waters 5am 9am 3pm 7 pm and . I will say the bags do not cover what they say i used 5 on my yard which was at most 1300 sq ft the 3lb bags should do 1100sq ft i believe but over all very satisfied cant wait til im a month in.

Reseeding after construction

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this product for spot seeding and small lawn repairs for a few years now. I like it because it works equally well in sun or shade keeping the lawn visually consistent. Last year I had construction done on my property and the equipment created a 100 yard road across my lawn. I manually scattered about six pounds of Sun & Shade mix evenly over the entire road near the end of a good soaking rain. I did no additional watering as my hose does not reach this area of my lawn. I did do my usual two applications of Turf Builder Weed & Feed and one application of Winterguard during the remainder of the season. As of this spring 90% of the road has returned to lush lawn and the rest is coming back reasonably well.

I bought Scott's Turf Builder - Sun & Shade Mix from my local Home Depot. My lawn had some dead spots in the front under a large tree. I raked the dirt per the directions. Filled the bare spots with the grass seed. Watered in the first night, then lucky for me it rained for the next three or four days/nights. I kid you not by the 6th or 7th night the grass was already coming in nicely. On the bag itself I believe it normally takes 2 weeks or so but for me it only took a week.
A few weeks have pasted the new patches on grass look so much better than the rest of my lawn I want to re-seed the whole lot with this stuff.
Pros: Value, Quality, Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like Scott's seed and fertilizer. I used to use Scott's products when my father and I owned our own greenhouses. The products were superior in quality and performance. But now I don't spend much on your products anymore, because they are so expensive! If the price was lower I'd buy Scott's all the time.
