This product gives a beautiful dark green lawn

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I planted this seed in the fall of this year .I had to do very little watering. It came up looking great,a nice dark green color. It is now January 2016 and it is still beautiful.
Pros: Easy to Use, Quality, great product

Shade grass seed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried this seed under a japanese red maple and it initially worked but then all the grass died
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We certainly apologize for the difficulties you've had with the grass under your Japanese maple. Unfortunately, the shade from the maple may be inhibiting the seed from fully establishing. If that doesn't seem to be the problem, we would recommend having that soil tested for nutrient deficiencies.

Most Beautiful Yard of the Month!

Not really, but i had several neighbors tell me they were going to nominate our yard, if we had such a contest.
Seriously, we moved to a brand new neighborhood without a yard at all, save the weeds that sprung up voluntarily. Only got a temporary certificate of occupancy because we had no grass or trees. And only 30 days till the TCO expired.
We used only Scotts products on our lawn and it is impressive! Lush green, still coming in. Was interviewed by a reporter about the yard the first part of July and she couldn't believe we had only planted seed on Father's Day.
My landscaper recommended sod, but we weren't willing to shell out that kind of money after having put in underground sprinklers and curbing. After the landscaper saw how well the seed came in, he wanted to know what product we had used. i showed him and he was impressed. Had another landscaper from out of state stop in front of the house and wanted to know what we had used.
It has taken a LOT of water but the yard is beautiful and i am definitely now a Scotts customer!
And, we got our certificate of occupancy!

Great lawn results

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good product especially for the price. I have used it a lot as put in a new front yard and also reseeded the backyard. The product has a hard time if any part of the yard will receive direct sunlight exposure. It is really good if yard the entire yard will have shade at some point in the day.
