Extremely Disappointed

I bought 3 bags of this seed (for back yard), 3 bags of Scotts Starter fertilizer (for entire property) and a brand new Scotts Deluxe edgeguard spreader. Everything was Scotts branded product. I followed their recommendations to the letter. Cut the existing lawn to the lowest level, then dethatched, then spike aerated, then followed spread rate on the bag for overseeding (1 number heavier with my Scotts spreader) and used Scotts Starter fertilizer at recommended setting (with my Scotts spreader). And, moved sprinklers around daily until there was some growth. Nature helped alot. Now, in the spring, the fruits of my labor failed me, or was it the product. The only thing that came up is my old original grass. I have spent alot of time, money and labor to overseed my back lawn and it looks as bad as it did before (these are after pictures) I took on the project. Literally. I have been a loyal customer to Scotts for over 50 years and this is the absolute pits......yes I'm over 70 yrs old.

I bought this a month ago (20#) and reseeded after spreading fresh loam and Scotts starter fertilizer. Only about 1/3 of the seed grew. Very disappointed. Will not purchase again.

Never grows

I have tried this a few times with absolutely no luck. I am in a warm climate and keep grass watered. This grass will not start to grow. I have covered with humus and I have tried just putting down just the seeds. I have never had a blade of grass from this seed.

High maintenance, costly, fragile, disappointing

This grass requires frequent watering even to stay alive. When grass sprouts, it is tender and fragile, even into its second year. I have reseeded resulting bald spots several times. This product is a solid C- on an A to F scale. Illinois

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a large yard that has areas from full sun to full shade and everything in between. There are some bare areas from erosion on a hilly area and other areas that have a lot of fencing and brush surrounding the area which makes it very hard for grass to grow in full shade. I received this product early enough in the season for the seed to set well and take before the sun starts to bake everything. My application is on the very steep sun all day hill and the deepest part of my yard where I usually mow little more than dust. The product itself looks like very good quality, and the color of it makes it easy to see where you have spread it. The consistency makes it super easy to spread. I used my Scotts spreader and applied it more heavily on the bare areas after scratching the soil very well with my garden rake. It is still very early to review growth as it hasn't been very long since planting, however I would be happy to come back in a few weeks with updates on the progress.
