I seeded a 5x8 parcel and watered it every day for 5 weeks. teh grass is less than 2 inches tall and barely showing in most spots. I thought I bought the best, now I know: The name dosen't make the product!
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I cleared out my entire backyard of trees and seeded with this seed. Excellent germination rate and thick green grass. Very good mixture of grasses and germinates pretty quickly.

Grass Seed Worked

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I put the seed down on my lawn, on patches that were thin. I added Top-Soil in addition to raking the ground 1st. I watered it daily for apx. 2 weeks; then the grass began to show growth. If you are patient and persistence - the seed will work!

You Get No Weeds

In 2003, I seeded my whole back yard, which is 90 x 60, and there were no weeds in the seeds. I have never heard of anyone, who seeded their yard, go weed free, but I did. In fact, goes so well that I need to mow twice a week in the middle of summer. I recommend this product to everyone.

Cons: expensive

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At the beginning of spring, I noticed that there were several areas that needed attention if my lawn was going to to be well balanced. The Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed (Sun and Shade Mix) delivered a product that improved my lawn. I placed the seed in areas that received full sun and dense shade (a massive Norway Maple). This grass seed is the best I have ever used. This grass seed is superb. I am very happy with the reasults.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions, Quality, Value, the instructions are very easy to follow.
I would recommend this to a friend!

did not grow in area i prepared

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] after reading instructions I prepped the spot for repair but the seed did not take. I thought because of the Scott brand it would be good but I was mistaken.

Please keep a few things in mind for your future seeding efforts, temperature plays a critical role in seedling germination. Soil temperatures must be at least 55 degrees Fahrenheit (13 degrees Celsius) for northern type turf grass seed to germinate successfully (bluegrass, ryegrass, fescue). Air temperature must typically be between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit (15-26 degrees Celsius). Seeds will not germinate if the temperatures are cold at night, or are fluctuating from high day temperature to very low nighttime temperatures. Continue to keep the area moist and as temperatures become more consistently warm, the grass will have a better chance of germinating.
