It Works!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our lawn had one area that could never grow grass, partly because we live in Michigan and the snow always piled up in this section and the shaded area didn't allow melting. It was right at our front entrance area, so it was an eye sore as guests arrived. In the spring two years ago we gave it another patch job with Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed for Sun & Shade and it looked great. The test came in the spring and it was amazing that it still looked great. This grass mix really does work!
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions, Value, Quality, it works!

Our backyard borders some timber area and I cleared out some ground growth this spring. I planted seed in those areas and while much of it was this Scotts seed, I ran out before completing the area. I had some additional seed my dad had left over and used it to finish. The difference is VERY noticeable. The areas with the Scotts came in much quicker and fuller. Admittedly, after clearing the growth, I didn't clean the dirt out as well as I should have, but this seed has taken so well I have been able to let it grow and then spray the sections with Scott Turf Builder with weed killer and it has cleared out the weeds and the new grass has taken completely over. Good stuff!!
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions, Value, Quality, seed takes quicker

We are sorry for the lack of results from using our Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix Going through the effort of preparing and reseeding an area only to have disappointing results can certainly be frustrating. We have sent your comments to our Quality Assurance Department to investigate any issues. We also have some seeding tips to offer that have been helpful to some of our consumers.
Temperature plays a critical role in seedling germination. Soil temperatures for this particular product must be at least 55° F for the seed to germinate. For best results, daytime temperatures must typically be in the 60-80°F. range and not going below 50°F at night. Seeds will not germinate if the temperatures are cold at night, or are fluctuating from high day temperature to very low night time temperatures. We hope these extra tips are helpful.
We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please contact us to see what can be done. You may visit our contact page by clicking on the following link: http://tinyurl.com/mds8zo5

We hate to hear your Scotts Turf Builder Sun & Shade Mix didn't germinate. Water, herbicide use, lawn disease and temperatures are a few things that play a critical role in seed germination. While some you don't have a control over others you do. Grass seed germinates best when a balance is achieved. We'll be happy to discuss your application and help you with our product guarantee.
