1-Week Review (So Far, So Good)

My yard guy said July is too late to put down seed but I’m selling my place and the beautiful TruGreen lawn I had in May, burned in a June heat wave. I had to try. He said my yard is moist, so I might get “Lucky”. I don’t believe in luck, so I put down the seed last Thursday night, lightly covered the more exposed patches with some raised bed soil I had on hand, soaked the seeded ground the first night and again the next morning, and it has rained every day since. This morning (Thursday) I noticed abundant sprouts in the areas I had covered in soil, less sprouts in areas of loose soil but uncovered, and almost no sprouts in the more compacted soil.
I’m only reviewing to troll the 1 star people (and if Scott wants to send me another bag, I’m open to expanding my review to include the Bermuda seed I put down today (mid-July). Happy Seeding!!

Awful product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As far as grass seed goes this product has yielded excellent results for me. I used it to reseed a backyard area that is partial shade most of the day. After some easy tilling of the soil I just threw down the seed and it germinated within 7 days. Now have a fairly lush lawn and am satisfied. It was a nice seed mix for my area and climate.
On the down side I feel the prices for grass seed are way to high ....

A Must For Bare Spots

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This grass seed has worked very well in shady areas. It doesn't need constant soaking to get rooted and sprout. It has come up fine in spots close to trees that don't allow a lot of sun. I have bought a different brand before and never got the results I wanted. With this product I saw the results within weeks. You can't go wrong with a Scotts product.

I had a terrible 14 foot round mud area in the backyard where our trampoline had been. In addition, several other patches of dead areas from my two dogs. I bought 2 bags of this and it covered all the areas well. Within 7 days sprouts of grass. By day 10 it was an inch. I didn’t think it would work that well but was pleasantly surprised! I watered twice a day for about 10 minutes each time and did not use any other products. We simply drenched the areas, raked the mud up slightly, laid the seed, watered, and VOILA! My backyard is also half in the sun and half in the shade. Excellent product!!! Will buy again if we have any more patches.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had some troubled spots in our back yard under the trees on the north side. We applied as directed and watered as directed and in no time had excellent results. We had tried other brands but percentage of results were much less than satisfactory. Would highly recommend if you want great results, and don't want to waist your time doing the job repeatedly.
