[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Turf Builder seeds were spread throughout bare sections of my lawn. The product was effective in growing and blending and covering up areas both in sun and shade.

Product stinks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For the last 2 years I have used this product in sunny and shady areas and it hardly grew. I put fertilizer down watered it and still no great grass. The weeds always won out.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Directions
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not even with a perfectly cool wet May and a sprinkler system

I was a little late by the calendar, but here in the Northeast USA, we had the perfect late April/ Early May for seed to germinate. Cool, and damp, no frost. I even started up the sprinkler system and avoided putting down any treatments. I spot treated my lawn's bare spots - Pricking with a fork to break up the sod, raking out the dead grass adding a little compost. Then raked in the sed to the top inch with a bit of peat moss.
Not one blade of grass has germinated. I am really surprised as I have always used Scotts, and this method has always worked. I used the same seed on the same location last fall, and that is the grass that you see in the photograph.
Cons: Didn't work as expected, failed to germinate.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Air temperature must typically be between 60 and 80 degrees. Seeds will not germinate if the temperatures are cold at night, or are fluctuating from high day temperature to very low night time temperatures. Very hot weather will also inhibit seed germination. Effectively fills in bare spots

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this product a couple times to thicken and fill bare spots in my lawn. It works great after aerating the lawn or just heavily raking bare spots. Comes up fast and blends well with my other grass.

Always dependable results

I discovered this product several years ago and it is far better than any other seed I have used. Definitely worth the extra cost to get 100% great results. I have used it for spot repair and fall overseeding and won't use anything else going forward.
