Best idea I've ever had was to use this product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I re did a part of my lawn last year and dedicated to use this product. Best idea I've ever had. My lawn came up withing weeks on my seeding it,and a beautiful green, and think. Thank you Scott.

Success on a quality grass seed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After aerating and dethatching the back yard I used Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed and Shade mix. The seed took and filled in the areas that I needed replanted. Thank you for this quality mixture which allowed a successful replant and also helped to fill in the other parts of the yard.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Directions, Value, Quality

3 applications and plenty of water and very spotty results

I have seeded approx 700 sq feet of my yard on 3 separate occasions over the last 6 weeks. The area has 6" of fresh organic top soil and the seed was raked in on the first 2 seedings. In the third application, seed was covered with a coating of about 1/2" of peat moss. Area was watered 1 to 2 times per day throughout. total seed used was one 20lb bag on first application and one 7 lb bag for each of the next 2. Thats far more seed than i should need for 700 sq feet. Grass is growing in sporadic clumps very unevenly and there is still about 40-50% bare ground. There are as many weeds growing now as grass. I can not recommend this product at all. i feel that i have given it a more than fair attempt.
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fast growing

grass never grew!

Always used Scotts grass seed products and never had an issue. tried this mix and it was horrible. I still have blue grass seeds all over lawn and maybe 1/4 of grass grew from it. did directions exactly as directed.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Directions
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Product worked where others had failed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have an incline in my backyard that is difficult to grow grass on. I have tried other products, but to no avail. All of the products sprout OK, but then they slowly die off over the summer. Last fall, I planted some Scott's grass seed. It sprouted just like the others, so I was still skeptical. Slowly as time went by, I could notice the grass getting thicker. It survived the winter and this spring is doing very well. It has already greened up very nicely and is quite thick. I have a few more spots in my yard that need some TLC and I will be sure to use Scott's grass seed.
Pros: Value, Quality, Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective
