[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This lawn seed is the fastest growing with the least amount of weeds I have ever used. It survives even our harsh winters and summers with very little water.
Pros: Quality
Cons: expensive

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had a yard full of oak trees that besides soak up the sun, they also soak up the water. I finally decided that if I ever wanted grass to grow there, I better go all out and follow the Scott's plan for shady areas. I aerated, seeded, watered and fed Scotts Winterguard in the fall. This spring, I had a beautiful lawn of green, lush grass. I am thrilled with the results from Scott's Sun and Shade Mix.
Pros: Quality, Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective

Blue Lawn...No Grass
on July 31, 2018
Posted by: Bulldog43
Purchased one bag of this horrible product and absolutely nothing happened. Not a single blade. Accidentally purchased another because I forgot which brand it was and I didn't realize my mistake until I opened the second bag of blue sawdust, so I couldn't return it.
Never again.

We are sorry to hear that Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix did not yield any new grass. Many herbicides such as crabgrass controls, will inhibit germination and should be avoided if sowing during the season. Contact us if you have yet to do so. We apologize for the inconvenience you’ve experienced when using the product. This particular product usually has a lot of success stories from users, but it is helpful when we get reviews like yours to help us produce quality product. For Cool Season grasses like Bluegrass, Ryegrass, and different types of Fescues soil temperatures must be at least 55 degrees (+12.7 Celsius) for grass seed to germinate and can take between 4 -21 days to see germination. Warm season grasses like Bermudagrass, Centipede and Zoysia, which germinates in early summer, requires soil temperatures between 75 - 90 degrees (24 - 32 Celsius) and can take between 5-28 days to see visible germination. Watering also plays a defining factor in germination. We recommend watering 1-2 times a day until germination is visible and then watering 1- 1 ½” per week as needed. Both excessive watering and not enough watering can slow down or even stop germination of the product. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to contact us at http://tinyurl.com/mds8zo5 and one of our representatives would be glad to assist you. We hope this issue has not caused you to lose faith in our product, as we use reviews like yours to maintain and improve the quality product that you and other consumers have come to know and love.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a bag of this seed. New top soil, plenty of seed, lots of water and some fertilizer....Nothing... Not a single blade of grass.
Cons: Didn't work as expected

We are sorry for the experience you had with our product. Water is an important factor in successful seeding. The newly seeded areas must be kept constantly moist for weeks on end. Allowing the soil to dry out even for an hour during the critical germination phase can result in seedling death.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this product for fall planting. Because we had so much rain, it was much later than I wanted to plant, but went ahead and spread it anyway. It grew quickly and filled in nicely. Now, if I could just get the squirrel to stop digging to bury their nuts.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions, Quality

I bought this product last year at Costco for $49.98.
I have used this product to overseed my lawn few times, and it has not worked, all i get is more weeds on my lawn.
Someone suggested i buy turf builder with coated and apply with lawn soil when the temperature is between 15 and 26 celsius and water everyday until when grass is 2".
I am afraid nothing grows and i am very disappointed. I also watched how to videos and i followed instructions very clearly.
Not happy at all especially when you guys talk highly of Scotts brand.
Pros: Good Directions
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
