[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The grass seed is colored blue - a color birds don't see well so they don't eat it! This gives the seed a better chance to grow. Good Job Scotts!
Pros: Good Directions, Effective
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] THIS PRODUCT IS INCREDIBLE IN THAT THE RESULTING GREENER AND FULLER GRASS EMERGES SO RAPIDLY. I NEVER HAD AS MUCH FAST RESULTS WITH ANY OF THE PREVIOUS BRANDS IVE TRIED, I'M ANGRY WITH MYSELF FOR NOT USING THIS PRODUCT EIGHT TEARS AGO. BUT I HAVE EARNED MY BRAGGING RIGHTS TO BE SINGLED OUT AS HAVING THE BEST LAWN IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD. I RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT WHOLEHEARTEDLY TO ANYONE THAT IS SERIOUS ABOUT CREATING A STRONGER, GREENER AND MORE FULLER LAWN.. TIGER WOOD MIGHT MISTAKE MY PLACE TO BE THE MASTERS TOURNAMENT SIGHT.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions, Value, Quality, proficient

We are sorry that you have had problems while using Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix. Generally, we recommend seeding in early autumn when soil temperatures are still warm and there is no danger of frost for at least a month.

Temperature plays a critical role in seedling germination. Soil temperatures must be at least 55 degrees and no warmer than 75 degrees for your seed to germinate. If you sow your seed when the soil temperature is too hot or too cold, the seed will wait until ideal conditions are present. As long as you do not experience a sudden change in temperature after germination begins, you could still experience the great results you expected from our seed.

One major "enemy" of a newly seeded lawn is herbicide. Make sure that no weed control or weed prevention product has been used in the area, as those products will also prevent or inhibit germination. When used on newly germinated lawns, herbicides will kill off the new grass.

We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience please contact us to see what can be done. You may visit our contact page by clicking on the following link http://tinyurl.com/7ag7a3n

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Sun & Shade to repair bare spots after having work done on rear patio. Followed directions and had grass growing in about 10 days. Within 2 months grass filled all of the bare spots. I'm very satisfied the results.

Cons: none

This was my second fall for using on bare spots and where trees were removed this summer. Gets a good start and fills in better next spring. I have also used to over-seed between early February/late March.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective

We're sorry to hear you are disappointed. If you planted this spring, give the seed more time. Soil temperatures must be above 55 degrees, which mean daytime temperatures must be consistently above 65 degrees and nighttime temperatures must be above 55 degrees. Fluctuating temperatures will delay germination.
