Great Germination

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have a large lawn with both sun and shade. We needed a product that would cover both. This product delivers. It germinates quickly and gives you hardy beautiful grass that is still growing on our lawn. Our weather here in New England is pretty unpredictable, but this product can handle it.

Turf Builder Grass Seed is an excellent product. All Scott products to the job they are supposed to do. I would use no other.

No grass from this seed

I tried 2 separate bags of this seed and had no luck with either bag. Would not recommend

We apologize that you have experienced problems while using Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix. It is certainly frustrating to go through all the work of reseeding an area, only to have the results less than satisfactory. Undoubtedly you will be doing reseeding projects in the future, and I just want to give you a few tips that have been helpful to some of our consumers.
Water is a critical factor while seeding, however it is also possible to water the area too much. As a rule, it's best to keep the area moist. Seeds also must come into direct contact with the soil to germinate properly. If you are seeding over an existing lawn, it may be necessary to either vigorously rake in the seed or to apply a thin layer of topsoil. Temperature is important as well, as this particular bag of seed requires soil temperatures to be at least 55 degrees to germinate properly. Also, most pesticides and weed controls can interfere with seeding.

Fantastic Grass Seed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a Fantastic grass seed. it fills in nice...and grows at a reasonable rate. Watering is not required as much as other brands.
When all is said and done....you will have a lawn that is the envy of your friends and neighbors!

The best grass seed I ever used period.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My lawn is a combination of different types of grass and the soil has lots of clay and rocks. I successfully grew grass in multiple bare spots. With four kids and hectic schedule my wife and I didn't have to spend a lot of time. I've tried other brands and they don't come close to the end result I was looking for. If you want a healthy weed free beautiful green lawn, buy Scott's !!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My backyard was being consumed with bent grass. I decided to redue my entire backyard. After reviewing all the different grass seeds, I selected ScottsSun and Shade mix. Within 2 months my backyard looks great. I will reseed this spring to further enhance it.
