lush green grass compare to other grass seed

Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions, Value, Quality, it works

OK, but disappointing

I laid down Scott's Topsoil over the carefully raked, patchy bare spots left by this year's draught in mid-September. I raked in the topsoil to let it fill in these spots, evening it out nicely at ground level, then liberally applied grass seed by hand. After raking that gently into the soil I carefully covered it with straw, thwarting our juncos, and was careful to water it twice daily unless it rained, which it did plenty these last two weeks. In spite of all this care I might have a 50% return on my investment. I have a lot of brown soil, and certainly there is some grass sprouting, but the soil still looks patchy. I guess I'm hoping it somehow fills in, but it doesn't look like the nice, thick lawn like it was before the draught. I was hoping for a better result.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Due to a serious ant infestation in my yard, I was wondering if my lawn would ever look nice again. I am happy to report that this grass seed always works. After spreading and thoroughly watering, I have hope that the bare areas in my backyard will be green and healthy looking again! Very easy to use, even in full sun spots.

Quick Growth

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been planting new grass in the front yard this year and we recently did a section just last week. I have new grass sprouting as of this Wednesday! So this seed germinated in 5 days!! I know this may not be common in most areas but its been amazing how quickly this has taken to my soil! I am hoping that it takes and does well in the new area! We will see- Overall very pleased with this product! Will buy again!

We had washouts

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had washouts several times last week due to heavy, heavy rain flooding over our road and driveway … unfortunately too soon after I filled last winter's wash out with topsoil and Scott's Sun & Shade mix The seed still took and I can see a fresh new path of little green whiskers sprouting in the downstream area which filtered seed and topsoil from the washout, some of which my downstream neighbors will get the benefit. Not to be deterred, … no, I am not going to transplant these little sprigs with tweezers, … but I am going to repeat the process with new topsoil and the rest of the bag of seed. I am going to create a small dam with unopened bags of Scott's Red Mulch, which I will use elsewhere once the lawn is re-established. A thing of beauty is a job forever.
