Excellent product, expensive but worth it.

I have used Scott's grass seed exclusively for years, and this improves upon an already great product. Whatever the "Water Smart Plus" seed coating is, it works. If you thoroughly prepare an area, keep it covered with straw, and water it regularly, you may be able to get away with a cheaper product. For the rest of us who don't have the time or inclination to babysit their lawn all day, this is perfect. A minimal amount of daily watering and your grass will grow enthusiastically. You'll have thick and durable area in a few weeks. From what I could determine there were no weed seeds in the bag, only nice thick grass sprouted.
I use an oscillating sprinkler and a garden hose timer set to run for 30 minutes every morning. Three or four weeks of that should be sufficient for the newly seeded area to be self-sustaining.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our yard seemed to take a hit this past winter. (Michigan). Areas in both the sunny & shady areas needed to be redone. After preparing our lawn with the Scotts turf lawn soil and adding the turf builder grass seed (in BOTH areas), which was extremely easy by the way,our lawn is really looking great.
We've been told numerous times by people how nice our yard looks and what we use to make it look that way!
We always tell them: The only products we ever use is Scotts. No matter what you want to do with your yard you can't go wrong using Scott products and they have such a wide variety of products too!

Met a Scotts rep at local home improvement center. Was planning to get a Rebels strain but he convinced me that Sun and Shade variety would work well in our back yard that gets less sunlight. We brought in topsoil, waited for a cool night to spread seed. We then lightly raked it in and spread seed over that. Watered thoroughly that first night, then followed up several times per day - 4-5. On day five I saw just one seedling. On day six, too many to count. It's been about 8 and we have a see of bright green. Even spread, no weeds, and interestingly, little variation in blade height... all nurtured in same way, I suppose. We lightly spread Scotts Starter fertilizer just this morning so as to have a great affect and not be washed away. Not sure what else we could want. BTW, the blue coating made raking and spread management much easier because seeds were easy to spot.

Lawn Patching Made Easy!

I live in Wisconsin and lost a couple of areas in my lawn last winter. I used Scotts Grass Seed to repair these areas. I raked the soil, spread grass seed, top soil and then covered it with peat moss. Regular watering, a few rain showers and warm sunny weather have resulted in fast infill of these areas. I am very pleased with this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We spread Scott's grass seed over a freshly prepared area that gets a mixture of sun and shade. Two weeks later we have greatness lawn sprouting. The shady areas are doing just as well as the sunny portions. All we had to do was keep it moist.

Super Grass Seed For Tough To Grow Area
