Good Results!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this product as an "over seeding" to a troubled lawn with great results. The lawn can back rich and lush as if it were new sod. It did help that we got a lot of rain to supplement my watering.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions, Quality, Value

Worst grass seed I have ever used.

I brought a 40 lb Turf Builder Sun & Shade Grass Seed. Only 40% of the grass seed sprouted. If course they ask me if I watered it. Really!!!! I guess I can't read instructions at the age of 62. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IF YOU LIVE IN WISCONSIN!!!

Great results in less than 2 weeks

I bought this product after having my driveway paved and having a portion of my lawn turned into a dirt pile. As first timer, I followed the instructions exactly as written. I saw great results in less that 2 weeks! I later went back in to fill some patchy areas and skimmed on the instructions, I didn’t get the same results. Long story short, follow the instructions on the bag and you’ll have great results.

I can't find what variety or varieties of grass seed this formula contains but it's performance has been nothing short of miraculous...where I used left over Miracle Grow all purpose potting soil for my 'top soil'. Ive had great success in other areas where I used Scott's Top Soil in the red bag...but takes longer. The pictures I included are from day 7 where I used the Miracle Grown potting mix. Neighbors have been pulling over to inquire how I grew it so quickly.

I purchased above product and starter fertilizer and planted it on Aug 28,2019. I also covered the seed with 8 bales of straw to help the ground stay moist. My neighbor planted a different grass seed a week and a half later than i did. My grass at best today is one inch high and very thin and my neighbor's is 4 inches high. Our soils are the same but he did not use a starter fertilizer or straw. I was very dissapointed with your product as I have started 3 lawns in my yard and have never had a problem in past years. I have used Estate sun and shade seed on my yard starts in previous years and have had good results. I have heard your commercials about having the best yard in the neighborhood, So I used yours. I am sorry I changed to your seed as all the yards I planted I did it the same way as I did this year.

Poor Germination

Followed instructions. Optimal weather conditions. Used Scotts lawn soil as directed. Adjusted irrigation system properly. Less than 15% of the seeds germinated after 30 days. Would never purchase this product again. Would not recommend it either.

Complete Failure

Bought for my 2000'sq front yard to overseed. Followed instructions: mowed low, raked out thatch etc, rake prepped soil, spread seed & re raked in. Watered every day plus for 4 weeks... NADA!! All that effort & expense for NOTHING! Quit using Scott's Weed & Feed for Bayer a while back. My advice = stay away from Scotts!

Great Grass Seed!
