[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in a desert area and really wanted to have some grass to not just see dirt all around me. I was expecting for it to take months to see some results, but within a few weeks I began to see growth. It’s very simple to spread and maintain. I will definitely be using this yearly to grow grass. I recommend this to anyone looking for fast and nice result.

Bright green and full lawn starts in about a month

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scotts® Turf Builder® Grass Seed Sun & Shade is the only product we will use to regrow and start new lawns. Our yard is in a bowl where some half the yard is constantly in shade while the other half is in full, hot sun so the perfect mix of fesque and rye grass work very well in our High Sierra desert dirt. The seeds need a light dirt cover and at a regular 3 time a day for the first 2 weeks watering schedule of 15 to 20 minutes was more than enough to grow bright green and dense lawn.
Extremely happy with our Sun and Shade Grass seed.

Greenest grass growing

It's super easy to use. I simply cut my grass, spread it, then raked it in. It grows in all kinds of conditions!

Made lots of grass

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am really happy with these grass seeds. I applied generously to areas that were having a difficulty producing anything and in a couple weeks I has lots of grass. The grass looks really green and healthy.

One month later we have a thick lush green lawn. We did apply one bag of Scott’s Thicker grass seed after the sun shade seed covered most of the yard, just to help fill in thin areas. Definitely recommend that strategy.

Impressive In Spite of the “Shade”

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Impressive product overall. Our yard is large hilly, shady, very shady in spots and we have hard time getting grass to grow in certain spots. With us living in the rainiest county in our state it’s exceptionally difficult to get grass seed that can stand up to the downpours and still sprout and take root. My husband and I were cautiously optimistic about Scott’s Turf Builder Seed( for sunny or shady areas ) and it’s prospects for our yard. So I applied the seed using my spreader per the directions on the package and hoped for the best. A few days later we got a massive downpour and I was certain it had washed away every seed and any chance of building up our lawn and covering the bare spots. Imagine my surprise when we went out the day after the rain and the see was still there and hanging tough. Now fast forward a few weeks and we have new grass growing in the bare spots and thicker grass where it usually is choked out by the shadiness we have to contend with. Scott’s does it again! Our lawn is healthier, we are happier and our kiddo is loving playing outside and literally watching the new grass grow! I highly recommend this mix of you have had issues in the past with shadiness being a problem in getting your lawn filled out in the shady spots. We did and we don’t regret it at all.

Great in the shade but not so much in the sun.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My yard is a mix of sun and shade. It had developed bare spots so I thought this product would be the perfect solution. I followed the instructions on the package and while it grew well in the shady areas I had to redo the seeding three times in the patches in the sun. I was careful to water the seed as directed but it simply did not perform well in the heat.
