Product did not germinate at all

I purchased this product 3 weeks ago, and followed the directions. I watered twice daily, morning and afternoon, and the temperatures have been in the middle 70's for highs the last several days with the lows in the upper 50's. I used nearly a 3/4 bag to seed areas that were bare, and I have had very poor to no germination at all throughout areas of my yard. I have been a loyal Scott's user and happy with their products in the past, but this seed has been a terrible performer.
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are sorry that you have experienced problems while using Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix. Generally, we recommend seeding in late spring when temperatures are warm not only during the day, but at night also.
Temperature plays a critical role in seedling germination. Soil temperatures for northern (cool season) type turfgrass seed (Kentucky bluegrass, ryegrass, and fescue) must be at least 55 degrees F for seed to germinate. For best results, daytime temperatures must typically be in the 60-80 degree F. range and not going below 50 degrees F at night. Seeds will not germinate if the temperatures are cold at night, or are fluctuating from high day temperature to very low night time temperatures. The best time to seed cool season grasses is early to mid-fall.
One major "enemy" of a newly seeded lawn is herbicide. Make sure that no weed control or weed prevention product has been used in the area, as those products will also prevent or inhibit germination. When used on newly germinated lawns, herbicides will kill off the new grass.

We are sorry that you experienced problems while using Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix. While Scotts makes every effort to package products in such a way that they will not absorb water, occasionally, some water will get in. We recommend that you do not attempt to spread the wet seed. Instead, we suggest that you dispose of the package.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a large corner property, with both front and rear areas. I find that the sun and shade mixture is a perfect blend. I get sun in the front yard in the early part of the day, with some shade in the rear yard. This trend reverses as the day progresses. This versatile mix,is perfect for our hot summer weather. Even more so, with the added benefits of the water smart coating.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions, Value, Quality, quick results

Grass seed rebuilt a dead lawn

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a boarded up house that was in foreclosure. I'm not sure how long it had been since the house had occupants. The house was in bad shape and so was the lawn--front and back.
After raking and adding some dirt, I seeded heavily with Scott sun and shade grass seed since the property had some trees. Therefore it had sunny and shady areas. Within a few weeks I had thick grass, and no weeds. As I cut the grass, it would grow back thicker and thicker. More cuttings and more water made my lawn the best looking one in the neighborhood. Thanks Scott!!!
Pros: Effective

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In only a few days I started seeing sprouts and the seed has since grown in to fill in spots I had in my yard. Very successful growth rate and I would recommend to anyone who needs seed for sunny areas.
