[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the scotts seed product this fall which consisted of a majority of fescue seed. I am very well pleased with the result and the high degree of germination. I will definitely use this product in the future.

The best gass seed I've used

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At the beginning of August we removed all grass/sod from our front yard. We tried a seed that promised deeper roots, thicker grass and was supposed to be drought resistant. What a mistake. After 3 weeks we ended up removing what did germinate, along with all the weeds that also popped up.
I did some research and thought I would give Scott's Grass Seed with Turf Builder a try. By day 7 my new lawn was sprouting. At the beginning of October my neighbors remarked how nice my lawn looked. Needless to say, I'm hooked on Scotts and will not buy another fly by night product for any of my lam care needs. Well worth the cost.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions, Quality, great results

Does what it says

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the small bag to seed a bare area where we pulled out a bush. Itcwas easy to spread and water and hopefully when the weather warms up it will germinate and grow in nice and thick like the rest of my lawn that I seeded last fall.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have use the grass seed numerous times and I have found it to always be reliable because if one is going to all of the work in preparing soil for grass planting then you have to trust that what you are planting is going to make your lawn beautiful. I have found that this is a great quality when other grass seeds did not even germinate and come up. I trust Scotts, a quality name .

NO Growth, so replaced w/ Perennial Rye with amazing results...

FIRST TRY: Miserable results using Sun & Shade mix. Barely 1% germination. Followed instructions carefully, including Scott's Lawn Soil. Neighbors watched me watering dirt daily for 3-4 weeks looking like an idiot.
SECOND TRY: Extraordinarily fast, LUSH results within 10 days using Scott's Perennial Ryegrass. Needed mowing by 12th day! Amazing!!
CONCLUSION: Sorry I wasted time and money, but overjoyed that I did not give up. Confused as to how two products could yield such opposite results using IDENTICAL procedure.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Directions
Cons: Didn't work as expected, no visible coating on seed
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I tried every seed in the store because I should not grow grass. And nothing worked but when used Scott it came threw I now have green full grass.

Great for patching dead spots

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had a Pine tree removed before fall and had laid some generic grass seed and soil down to fill in the area. The seed never took hold, I tried the Scotts seed and it took hold in about a week, before it snowed the grass had almost completely grown over the hole in my yard.

Fills in the bare spots

Hurricane Irene messed up a large section of my back yard where there are many trees. About a 50 x 50 spot under the trees lost the grass there. Used the sun and shade mix twice, and the grass has filled in the spot and looks great... Try it....
