Plenty of weeds.

Love Scott's fertilizer, used Scott's grass seed this spring for some patch repair. I have more weeds then grass in those spots.
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're saddened to hear that weeds have grown in the area where you had applied the grass seed. All Scotts seed is thoroughly cleaned, and is 99.9% weed free. However, it is still very common for weeds to germinate when seeding as preparing the soil for the seed will likely resurface some weed seeds that were laying dormant buried in the native soil.

It's amazing!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We live in a valley and have lots of trouble getting grass to grow. in addition, our house gets all the rainwater that falls anywhere on the hill by our house. These 2 conditions mad it nearly impossible to grow any grass. We began using Turf Builder® Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix and amazing things have happened! We have beautiful green grass that is the envy of our neighbors. Our bare spots have been covered with grass and now there are no more streaks where the water has run down the hill and across our lawn. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Scotts!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had several small areas that I used this seed on. The grass grew in all but one area. I must have not prepared the soil good enough and did not use starter fertilizer in those spots.
The other areas grew fine but had some different types of grasses come up. My lawn is mainly blue grass and I just pulled out the wide blade grasses that came up. I love using Scotts products and I knowthat they are the best on the market. Thanks again for sending

Maybe it's me, but I have had good success growing grass in the past. Not the case here. Bought a brand new bag, added some peat moss to the soil, raked it in, used a roller for good soil contact, kept ground moist, and next to no growth. Disappointing. Is it possible to get a bad batch?

This seed does it all from shady areas to full sun with the boost from the turf builder.

With the boost from the turf builder it makes it easy and quick to seed your entire yard or to patch places that have not done well. Results are seen quickly and you can go about your other tasks without having to baby your newly seeded project.

Nothing grew

I never do these reviews but had to this time. I brought two bags of this and Scott's starter ferlizer did what Scott's said to do nothing grew but chickweed now I have to get rid of it also wasted all that money on water

We are sorry to hear about the frustration of your seeding experience. Of course, our guarantee applies any time you're not satisfied. If you seeded this spring, you may still see results when the weather warms. It might also be helpful to note that chickweed, as a winter annual, germinates in the fall and grows through the winter.
