We are sorry to hear that the Scotts Turf Builder with Halts Crabgrass and Grassy Weed Preventer did not prevent crabgrass as you expected. Crabgrass sprouts once temperatures reach 80 degrees in the spring, growing rapidly and producing seeds until the first killing frost in the fall. When applied according to the label directions Scotts Turf Builder with Halts Crabgrass and Grassy Weed Preventer will prevent crabgrass for up to 4 months. The areas should not be reseeded during this time frame. For additional assistance please contact us by using the following link. http://tinyurl.com/7ag7a3n

Poor Germination; Clumping

I've used Scotts products for years and this is no doubt the worst performing seed I've ever experienced. First the gemination rate was approximately 30%. After a few months I tried reseeding the bare spots, but got zero germination. The following year all I have is a yard full of grass clumps. It does not spread at all. Granted, what little grass I did have in the spring was nice and blue, now during the summer it's a nice shade of brown. VERY disappointed with this product.
Pros: none
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My back yard has always been bare and regular grass seed never worked probably because it doesn't get much sun. So I decided to try sun and shade mix and it worked great. I highly recommend it.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Directions, Value, Quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've over-seeded with excellent results. Also,as opposed to Scott's Lawn Patch which was iffy, I mixed a batch of the seed w/ Scott's topsoil to patch w/ outstanding results. There's pure seed without bulk inert matter.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions, Quality, Value
I would recommend this to a friend!

I used this on my lawn after we had a tree cut down. The bare spots were separated and the new grass grew back in it blended in very well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had an area in my back yard off my deck where my dog ( Who has since passed) Would jump off and urinate. It was horrible looking compared to the rest of my lawn. My friends said I would NEVER be able to get anything to grow there again. After he Died, I ripped up what was left, raked it out and used Scott's Turf Builder Grass Seed. It was in Early September. I watered it daily, and within 2 weeks, the area was Lush, Thick, Full and Green. The Seed Pods Germinated within 5 days. THIS is why I only use Scotts! Now, After it's First winter in Hibernation, and the horrible Jersey winter we had, it again is the greenest and fullest part of the yard!
Pros: Value, Quality, Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective, did what it was advertised to do!
