Good in the Fall

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used this grass seed on two sunny "bald" lawn spots. One patch grew just fine with this grass seed, the other did not. The one it worked great on was a flat area in our backyard that the product was applied to and water during the Fall. It took two applications to get the thatch we wanted but it worked well. The second spot was on a slight incline in our front yard. That was applied at slightly warmer time and didn't yield the best growth; possibly due to the warmth, possibly from the incline not allowing the water to soak in into the seeds well. Overall, a good product.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective
Cons: Didn't work as expected

Great if you like weeds

Just repared a strip of lawn that had new underground utilities installed. So new top soil was laid and I seeded with the Scotts sun and shade mix, covered with salt marsh hay, watered 3X/day. Had grass in 4-5 days....then the weeds. I also used Scotts Sun Mix in another area of this project and it had even more weeds. The fact that both areas used the same batch of top soil and had varying degree's of weed content tells me it's not the soil but the amount of weed seed in the bags. After this and my issues with the Scotts Potting Soil mix with bugs....I've about had it with Scotts products. This ain't your daddy's Scotts.
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Horrible results - wasted money

I recently bought 5 - 20lb bags to overseed and re-seed my yard. I even aerated before hand. Everyday I look and there is no new grass where I re-seeded, and the spots I over seeded still look very thin. I followed the directions to a t, but nothing. At all.
This was a huge waste of money and time, both of which I don't have much of.
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
