Help your lawn get betteer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is great for filling in those spots in your lawn taht have been damaged are just have not grown well. It does not require great effort to get good results.

Works fantastic and takes hold quickly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Last year we had a ton of yard work to do. A new puppy added to the lawn issues. However, the Scotts Grass Seed Sun & Shade really helped the problem. The grass took off quickly and really held it's ground. The grass seedlings came up evenly and in no time I was mowing my grass again.

I have always used scotts lawn care products and have always been pleased with the results. After moving into a new house the back yard needed some help. I went out and spread 10 yards of good topsoil and bought 2 40lbs bags of this grass seed and scotts starter fertilizer. After 6 weeks the results are nothing that I expected at all. There seems to be very little growth and it seems like the seed just didn't germinate at all. I followed the directions exactly and ,besides a couple cool nights which were in the 40s, the weather conditions were perfect for growing grass. This is not the first lawn I have put in but it is the first time trying this product and it will be the last.
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works in my heavy soil

Great product that grows well!

Not sure what everyone else on here is complaining about. I bought a small 7lb bag to seed my front entryway area this early spring and the grass has come in wonderfully.
I did remove the top 2 inches of the existing soil first, loosened the soil a lot, removed as many weeds by hand as i could, applied fertilizer to the soil, spread the grass seed, covered the whole area in a light layer of hay, and watered only in the evening hours (5pm-8pm).
A few weeks later the grass started germinating! I started this in early spring in Michigan which caused some delays getting this to grow but once temps were consistently over 60, the grass grew amazingly!
I kept watering the grass for another week and then when the grass was about 2-3 inches tall i lightly raked it to remove the loose hay. I then cut it to around 2 inches and was amazed. the grass came in very thick and made my front entryway look completely different.
I was so impressed with this product I bought a larger bag (25lb I think) to do a large area in my back yard and to reseed the rest of the yard. The attached pictures don't lie! This product works great!

Great for bare batches

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After a hard winter with lots of snow, I realized the plow truck had done a number on the edges of my lawn in several areas, both in sunny and shady areas. As the bare spots looked horrible compared to the rest of the green lawn, I spread the turf builder mix after frost warnings were through, kept it watered and it took off! My lawn looks recovered and fresh after being scraped bare in several types of landscaping conditions. This product is amazing!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used the Turf Builder Grass Seed in a few area of my yard that were lacking grass due to repair or lack of sun. The grass came in quickly and more full than the surrounding areas. I would recommend this product to anyone in my situation and will also use it again.

Stick with what works

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In my constant struggle to get a nice healthy lawn I have had plenty of opportunities to patch and grow new sections of my lawn. I have tried several brands of seed and found that the Scotts Sun & Shade Mix has provided consistently good results while others brands tend to be hit or miss in terms of durability and rate of germination. Scotts is usually a bit more, but after the effort to prep and nature new seed it is worth the few extra $$$ to get good results.
