Got a thicker lawn

Would not buy this product

Thought I would try this product on a few --platter size-- thin weak areas in my yard. Followed directions to the tea on April 18 (3 weeks ago) and absolutely no sign of life. You would think I would see at least a blade or two of grass? Really disappointed in the product, I will buy a competitors seed this weekend and hopefully get better results.
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not Worth The Price

I applied this product about a month ago and so far NOTHING. No new growth, no thicker lawn, nothing new to report. I followed the directions for application and watering after that but so far all I've gotten is a larger water bill.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted this to work. I have an area in the front of my house that is shaded and used the product in hopes that it would work. Unfortunately, it did not do anything that I can see. My lawn is Bermuda so maybe it was the sandy soil that affected the seeds from taking root.

We are sorry to hear that Scotts Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn Sun and Shade Mix did not germinate as expected. This seed mix is a combination of bluegrass, ryegrass, and fescue. While the ryegrass and fescue should germinate in 2 weeks, it could take 28 days for the bluegrass to come up. Temperature falling below 60 degrees or rising above 90 degrees can slow or even halt germination. Even the most shade tolerant grasses require at least 4 hours of sunlight a day. Dissatisfied and Dissapointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First Scotts product that I am dissatisfied and dissapointed in using. It’s been 16 days since I put the turf builder and nothing! I followed the directions properly but no germination. I hope they can give me feedback on what went wrong.

One thing to keep in mind with Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn Sun & Shade Mix is it is intended for overseeding a thinned lawn and not for seeding a new lawn or bare ground. This has a mixture of fertilizer, soil amendment and grass seed. The amount of seed in the mix is appropriate for overseeding but significantly less than what would be needed for seeding a new lawn.For best results apply when temperatures are between 60 and 80 degrees. Seeds will not germinate if the temperatures are cold at night, or are fluctuating from high day temperature to very low night time temperatures.We want you to be confident in our products. Easy to use, worked well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this to try to thicken up the grass growth in the shade of an oak tree. Laid down late in the growing season (mid-fall) but had good growth within several weeks; should look great in the spring when the growth picks up again.

sorry to say it was a disappointment, worked my tail off and no grass .Too much work for a 76 year old not to see any green . Would like some one from Scotts to come and show me the way.Would like another different bag of fertilizer from Scotts that will work as stated.Thank you
