Poor quality

This stuff is only 20% seed, all "fertilizer", without seed, cannot and did not produce any grass. Was a total waste of money

Worst result from Scott’s thick'r lawn bermuda

I used Scott’s thick'r lawn bermuda grass seed but now my lawn is full of weeds or the grass I can’t recognize. They must made huge mistake which should impacted many Bermuda customers. My lawn is full of crap and not sure how can I get rid of this unwanted grass.

Easy process

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I spread the seed as directed after raking everything up that I could. I have complete bare spots in some places. I have seen thickening in most spots and new growth where there was no grass at all. It took 10-12 days for it to be significant but after that it has progressed as I expect it to. It was easy to do following directions on the bag. I did water too on days we had no rain.

.great lawn care

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this to fill in some bare spots on the yard and some spots that were yellow from having a dog. Everything filled and wonderful the grass grew back thick my lawn looks great now. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to fill in or patch up their lawn to make it look good.

Absolutely Amazing

I've been using Turf Builder every spring for 3 years now and our grass looks amazing. I constantly have neighbors walking by, saying that I have the best looking yard in our neighborhood. Just make sure you follow the instructions and water as directed (morning or evening) and your lawn will look perfect in 2 or 3 weeks.

Great to grow weeds

I bought a bag of Scotts Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn Sun and Shade. Planted it on prepared soil that had all weeds removed. I watered then put down straw to protect the seed and keep it moist. Kept watering making sure the seeds didn't dry out. However, some grass grew but most of the lawn is now weeds. It's filled with them.

product worked pretty good

I read multiple reviews on the Scott's website and box store sites. Seemed like the product either worked or it didn't. I am writing this to relay my experience to help those like me that read all the reviews. I live in Nebraska and we had over 70 inches of snow this winter. I use the Scott's 4 step program, but all the snow pack this winter left much of the grass in my yard squashed it had difficulty recovering even after raking it up with a standard yard rake. I decided to dethatch the yard and give this product a try. I waited until I had a 2 week forecast between 60-80 degrees for highs. I dethatched my entire yard, it was very yellow and full of dead grass due to all the snow squashed grass. As many other reviews stated, buy plenty! It takes a lot to cover an area (per proper spreading instructions). After application we had no rain so I had to water my yard per the instructions (I have underground sprinklers) and after week 2 I saw great improvement, and after week 3 my yard is thick and green, and huge improvement. I haven't really noticed any weeds like many of the reviews stated. I do have some weeds but nothing out of the ordinary as I wasn't able to apply weed treatment as I was planning on using a product such as this or overseeding. Now that the yard is looking good I can apply a weed treatment. Overall, I would this product is worth the $, I would suggest timing is key, wait until your lawn is trying to turn green, dethatch, get the forecast timing to work out, water as suggested and it seems to work great. I would have gave it 5 stars, but nothing is perfect.

Didn't perform as expected

Bought a 40lb bag of this product and applied as instructed when the temp was in the recommended range. 30 days have past with the areas either receiving adequate rain or being watered daily. so far, no grass has has sprouted. None. As for other reviews seeing the lawn getting thicker, it probably would have happened without this product.

For this seed mix, which contains tall fescue, ryegrass, and Kentucky bluegrass daytime temperatures need to consistently be above 65 degrees F for seed germination. Both excessive moisture and not enough moisture can inhibit seed germination.
