Easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is great for areas of thin grass...especially in shady areas where thick growth is often difficult. My only complaint would be the large amount of rye grass included in the mix. With a St. Augustine yard I am not a big fan of mixing in rye...even in the shaded areas. I did use the product on my sisters lawn (which is burmuda) and she was very happy with the results of the growth under her shade trees and a few thin patches in her yard.

Maybe just bad luck

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Thicker Lawn product and unfortunately didn’t have any luck. I used as directied but after just over two weeks have not seen any results. However in fairness, the weather here has been uncooperative. Temperatures really varied, high winds making it hard to keep moist, leaves so thick in areas it smothered the seed, etc. Just bad luck I believe, not the products fault.

Dead seeded

Still waiting for grass to grow it’s been four weeks since applied.followed instructions on the bag. The seeds just cover bare spots. Never germinated. Yes the seed was watered. I did not save receipt. I don’t recommend this product.

Green-ed up the lawn, but no "Thick'R"

We had a new lawn installed last summer that came up very thin this year. I Used this product a month ago. It did green up the existing grass, but did nothing to fill in or thicken the lawn. Only giving it 2 stars because it did fertilize. Maybe it needs more than 4 weeks. If it suddenly comes up I'll adjust my review accordingly. Very disappointed at this point though. No signs of any new growth.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received the Scotts Turf Builder Thick’R Lawn Sun and Shade the other day. I like that it has everything you need to help turn weak, thin grass into a thick, green lawn. I like the 3-in-1 solution for thin lawns, including seed, fertilizer and soil improver. I applied this to several dead spots in my yard. I put straw down so that the birds would not eat it. I checked a small section and am glad to report that I have some grass sprouting. I am hoping it will continue to grow before it turns any colder here in SWVA. It was easy to apply and seems to be doing a good job.

Sun or Shade lawn improvement

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am looking forward to usingScotts Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn Sun & Shade for my lawn. It's Autumn and not the optimal time of the year to treat your lawn. My husband and I have an 1875 built home that has a clay soil. We have purchased several loads of quality topsoil to help us grow a healthy lawn over the past few years. After not having much success, we figured out it was the product we were using, that obviously is not right for our yard. Now we have the Scott's Turf Builder 3-1 Thick'R Lawn. This product contains seed with fertilizer and a lawn improver. In reading the instructions, it's important to note that watering your lawn after application is necessary daily. We have numerous large trees that provide great shade but have thin grass. The Scotts Turf Builder is appropriate for sun and shade and they guarantee a 50% thicker lawn after one application. This 12lb. bag covers 1200 square feet and using a seed spreader, is perfect for the area we are working to improve. Looking forward to Spring to apply this product and be the envy of the neighborhood with a thick, healthy lawn. Scotts for the win!

It contains seeds, fertilizer, and soil improved to help with root development. It can be used in both sun and shade. This product produces up to 50% thicker lawn. It is the easiest solution for filling in a thin law .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Scotts Turf Builder Thick’R Lawn Sun and Shade really is effective. I tried this turf builder on our back lawn on the areas which were looking thin and weedy It is so easy to use. I love that this is a 3 in 1 solution that includes seed, fertilizer and soil improver. The instructions are easy to follow. First raking/mowing the area and then spreading the turf builder. I had to made sure to water the area daily and I am starting to see a noticeable difference in the look and feel of our lawn. The grass looks healthier, more lush and has less weeds. The thin spots look fuller. Such an improvement. Will be using this every year. Highly recommend it!
