Don't waste your money

I put this down at the right time as instructed. Did everything per the directions and got nothing. 50 lb bag and maybe 3 blades of grass

Our apologies that you didn't get the results you expected after using Scotts Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn Sun & Shade. While you should start seeing germination in 6-14 days under ideal growing conditions, it will take about a month for all the seed to germinate. For this seed mix, which contains tall fescue, ryegrass, and kentucky bluegrass soil temperatures must be at least 55 degrees F for Grass Seed to germinate. Germination time is based on ideal conditions of soil warmth and a constant amount of moisture. This is not what we expect from this product, and we would be interested in discussing this further so that we can learn more about this issue and extend our product guarantee. Growing a ton of clover

I applied this about 3 weeks ago and noticed that while it didn't grow anything in some spots, there is some new growth happening in others. However, I noticed the shape of the leaves is a bit odd... it's clover! The majority of what's coming up is clover. I guess I'll have to buy more Scott's weed & feed to kill what I just paid them to grow. Really disappointed.

Our apologies that you encountered weeds growing after using Scotts Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn Sun & Shade. It is normal to have some weeds germinate when seeding. There are approximately 10,000 weed seeds per 1 cubic foot of native soil. Once the lawn has become established (usually after 3-4 mowings) weeds can be killed with a selective herbicide. You should start seeing germination in 6-14 days under ideal growing conditions. However, it will take about a month for all the seed to germinate. Cool nighttime temperatures and fluctuating temperatures will slow germination. Both excessive moisture and not enough moisture can also inhibit seed germination. Great "Combo" Product

No preparation needed works great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have very high traffic areas in our backyard by our above ground pool.
I did very little preping other than raking the surface lightly before spreading the seed! I was very pleased with how this filled in! No straw, no cover at all and boom...beautiful bright green grass! This product is the best I’ve used yet I have tried to grow grass in my front yard and in traffic areas and in my backyard where it is very shady I already have new baby grass growing after just a couple days!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this grass seed to fill in where I had some thinning grass spots. The space I put the seeds in is really shaded. The seeds came up in about 3 weeks which is quicker than I expected. I really like that it has fertilizer built in. My spots that were thinning already look thicker. I highly recommend this product.
