Thanks for the weeds!

After reading the reviews and waiting for the ground to warm to the recommended temp, I purchased a large back for my backyard. The 1st application I followed the direction perfectly and no new grass, but the weeds flourished with all the watering. I tried a 2nd application with the other half of the bag and that did absolutely nothing. I would not recommend this product.

Two and a half weeks.....nothing

Does this stuff work? I put it on the lawn following the instructions. Two and a half weeks and nothing. I can still see seeds. It has been watered daily, high 50's to mid 60's every day.

Does not grow

I planted this stuff in two different spots that were kind of bear on grass. After about 10 days all I had was about 10 blades of grass. I watered it 3 or 4 times a day to keep it moist and everything. The only thing that grew were weeds

We hate to hear that you did not enjoy your experience with Scotts Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn Sun & Shade. You should start seeing germination in 6-14 days under ideal growing conditions. However, it will take about a month for all the seed to germinate. It is normal to have some weeds germinate when seeding. A healthy, thick lawn will ward off most weeds. You can contact us if you would like to continue discussing this or if you want to know about our product guarantee. You can reach us here https://tinyurl.com/y8nvfsca.

I bought this 3 weeks ago, followed all the processes and not even small budding. I will not buy again. I recommend you not as well.

Chris C, we are sorry to hear about your experience with our Scotts Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn Sun & Shade. This seed mix is a combination of bluegrass, ryegrass, and fescue. While the ryegrass and fescue should germinate in 2 weeks, it could take 28 days for the bluegrass to come up. We are committed to making this right for you. Please contact us at https://tinyurl.com/y8nvfsca and refer to this review so we can further assist you.

Used this on a number of bare areas in my law about 6 weeks ago, and nothing. Sad because I've always used and liked Scott's products.

Not What is Advertised to Do
on August 25, 2020

Bought 2, 40-pound bags of this 3 in 1 seed to vegetate bare spots in my yard. Planted all areas the same; put down heavy on loose soil, raked in, watered, covered with compost and straw. Areas varied from sun to partial shade. Some areas did great, others hardly pushed up a blade of grass. So what does Scott do??

Ruined my lawn

Used this product to fill in and reseed my lawn. A lighter green crab grass has started taking over my lawn. Grows sideways and is very hard to mow. Now I’m pulling it out on my hands and knees. Beware.

Not enough seed to fertilizer ratio.
Bought this with high hope's and couldn't be more dissatisfied. Went out to buy seed yesterday to reso small spots I want to have grass fill in. Would not recommend this product at all and it was pricey too. Yes, followed directions to a T.

We are very sorry that you didn't get the results you expected after using Scotts Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn Sun and Shade Mix. Normally you should start seeing germination in 6-14 days under ideal growing conditions, but it will take about a month for all the seed to germinate. Cool nighttime temperatures and fluctuating temperatures will slow germination. Both excessive moisture and not enough moisture can also inhibit seed germination. We do have a product guarantee that covers all of our products that we would be happy to extend to you. We would like to discuss this issue more with you so that we can extend to you this guarantee as well as to learn more about this issue. At your earliest convenience, please contact us and refer to your review to see what can be done. We can be reached at 888-270-3714.
