We are sorry that you are not satisfied with Scotts Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn Sun and Shade Mix. All of our Scotts seeds are thoroughly cleaned and is 98.9% to 99.9% weed seed free. Natural soil contains thousands of seeds and when soil is disturbed, such as by rototilling, seeds that were deep in the soil may be brought to top of soil where growing conditions are better allowing them to germinate. We do have a product guarantee that covers all of our products that we would be happy to extend to you. We would like to discuss this issue more with you so that we can extend to you this guarantee as well as to learn more about this issue. At your earliest convenience, we ask that you contact us. Ive been watering and following all the instructions and no joy on getting germination. Maybe an issue the bag coming overseas. Military family in Asia. Temperatures are in the low to mid 70s.

We apologize for your encounter with Scotts Turf Builder Thick'r Lawn Sun & Shade. This Grass Seed will germinate best when temperatures are consistently in the 65-80°F range. Also, keep in mind that this product is intended to seed bare areas and not to start a new lawn. We are available at the following link to continue discussing this: http://tinyurl.com/mds8zo5

Not a single seed germinated
on May 7, 2020

I bought this in the fall, kept it inside for the winter, and planted it 2 weeks ago. I overseeded a patchy area in my back yard where we have a few trees and regular grass never roots well. Temperature kept between 36 at night to 67 during the day. Watered and rained on according to instructions. Not one seed germinated. I could understand it failing, but no germination at all is really unfortunate. Cannot recommend product.
Response from ScottsBy Agent, Consumer Service, June 17, 2020
We apologize you did not get the results you expected when using Scotts Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn Sun & Shade. This grass seed will germinate best when temperatures are consistently in the 65 - 80 degree F range. Cool nighttime temperatures and fluctuating temperatures will slow germination. Weed control used in the area can also inhibit seed germination. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee. At your earliest convenience, please contact us at http://tinyurl.com/mds8zo5.

Does Not Work

I was very excited to try this product. I wanted to fill in some more barer spots in my lawn and strengthen what was already there. I followed the instructions to a tee. Prepared the areas, used the recommended spreader settings, watered daily. More than three weeks later and nothing. Absolutely no new growth or change to my lawn. What a huge disappointment and waste of money.

I purchased this product a month ago. Used it as directed, and nothing. absolutely no new grass growth. I have used Scotts products fro years, and have always been happy. Don't waste your money on this one!

Dan. we're sorry to hear about your experience with our Scotts Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn Sun & Shade. We'd like to give you some tips on this product for the best results. Daytime temperatures need to consistently be above 65 degrees. In the spring it takes a lot of consistently warm temperatures to warm up the soil. Cool nighttime temperatures and fluctuating temperatures will slow germination but will not hurt the seed. We are committed to making this right for you. Please contact us at https://tinyurl.com/y8nvfsca and refer to this review so we can further assist you.

After spending 20 minutes reading the articles on the site and learning about each type of grass, the grass seed available for purchase on this site DO NOT have information about what types of seeds are in the bag? WHY?
Response from ScottsBy Agent, Consumer Service, June 26, 2020
We apologize for your dissatisfaction with our Scotts Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn Sun & Shade. As this is a blend of seeds designed for sun and shade, the blends may change from season to season. That is why we don't list them individually on the label. We can tell you the current blend is Wendy Jean Creeping Red Fescue, Fenway Creeping Red Fescue, Vision Perennial Ryegrass, Majesty II Perennial Ryegrass, Avalanche Kentucky Bluegrass, and Gaelic Kentucky Bluegrass. We are committed to making this right for you. Please contact us at https://tinyurl.com/y8nvfsca and refer to this review so we can further assist you.

I bought this thicker lawn after installing the Scott app on my phone for my lawn care. I used all the steps as mentioned on the bag. I cut the grass on lower mower settings , dethach my lawn, used the spreader to spread as per the settings mentioned on the bag. I watered every day and keep the soil moist but i am highly disappointed with this product.
