It is nice hand blender. However, I loved my older blender before the "lock button" was placed on the new models. With my arthritic hands, have to hold the lock button along with the start button makes it hard for me. Hopefully I will get use to it. I looked your hand blendesr without the lock button but to no avail.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My old one finally need to be replaced. It had lasted a very long time. I really love the new one. It is very powerful. It also had multiple speeds. The old one didn't. I can see why some people didn't like the safety switch however I was prepared for it from reading reviews. I didn't have a problem with it. Just a matter of getting used to it. There are children out there and I appreciate keeping them safe. Cuisinart, as always, thank you for making an excellent product.

This is my second Smart Stick after having the first one for over a decade. I use my Smart Stick several times a week using the immersion for soups, to chop nuts in the grinder part and of course to whip cream It's small, stores easily and serves so many practical needs.
