I got this for Christmas from children. They know that I usually like Cuisinart products. This little machine does everything I want it to from blending protein shakes to moderate chopping. My only real problem is the On/Off switch. It, obviously, wasn't designed with input from someone with arthritically impaired hands. It is pretty clumsy to operate even without the impaired hands.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Have been using this powerful blender for a month. We have easily whipped cream, blended soups & pinto beans.
Cons- The 'lock' button takes some getting used to but is just fine once you figure it out that you DO NOT have to continuously hold it down!
The stick attachment is not dishwasher safe like our previous one was (from a well known brand, starts with a K) but this is fine, again, just took some getting used to.
Overall, our family is really happy with the Cuisinart Smart Stick & it feels like a nice upgrade from our previous stick blender.

I replaced an older model and was please with the power. However, it took me a little time to adjust to the two finger control. I can see why others have problems, especially if they have arthritis or weak hands.

Blade could be easier to attach when chopping.

The chopping blade does not always stay on. especially when shredding hard cheese like parmesan or romano. It is not as easy as it seems to tighten without making small cuts on my fingers.

This is my first hand blender and I was not disappointed. Making soup is now much easier as I can puree all of the veggies right in the pot after cooking. I can see using this blender for whipping cream, making smoothies/milk shakes/pesto/salad dressing, etc......Very easy to use as long as you read the instructions thoroughly.
