No Instructions, No Help

Spreader came in an empty box, no instructions as to operation, settings, troubleshooting, etc. Tried to find the settings for my Marathon 15-15-15 fertilizer for my new sod on the website. It said the UPC was an "invalid number". Disappointing.
Cons: Difficult to use, no instructions!

The spindle in the bucket that allows material to flow has broken off after just a few uses on a 5000sq ft yard. The wheels collect material and leave clumps burning the lawn. This works and it’s cheap but I guess you get what you pay for. I won’t buy another not that I’m looking for a replacement I’ll find another brand.
Pros: Easy to Use
Cons: Didn't work as expected, Messy
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had two Scotts Turf Builder Edgeguard broadcast and they hold up for me with no wheel issues. I love the edgeguard, it really is so good.
The only knock on this model it's the "Mini" model and holds one 5,000 sg ft bag. I would suggest spending the extra $10 for the larger model which holds 2 bags of Scotts fertilizer.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective
Cons: small size
I would recommend this to a friend!

I replaced an older drop spreader with this one. It is so much better, and there is no metal pieces to rust out. Settings are simple to dial, and are accurate (although I usually go a bit lighter than recommended). Excellent results a few weeks after application.
Pros: Quality, Easy to Use
I would recommend this to a friend!

In order to save $2, Scotts and his engineering (or finance) team, are selling a product with design flaws: Product collect inside the wheels and dumps clumps of fertilizer, burning the lawn. This specially happens when turning. Secondly: why in god's name the rotating plateau is below wheel level? if it was just an inch higher, the fertilizer would go over the wheels and not inside. Please keep in mind that this issue is exacerbated when you need to apply on wet grass. A simple cover, a better design of the wheels, or 2 extra inches of tubing would have avoided this REALLY annoying issue that made me return this piece of junk. I am seriously wondering if anyone at Scotts has ever tried this product.
I would have gladly paid an extra $5 to avoid having those issues.
Cons: Didn't work as expected, Messy, fertilizer collects inside the wheels, uneven distribution of product: leaves burn marks
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I opened the box, I was surprised at how small, and light the product was. I very much like that the handle can be folded back down to save space in my crowded garage and repacked in its box between uses. All directions are clear and on the spreader for ease of use. Being mostly plastic, rust can't happen, and it can be rinsed off after use. Currently, I had used a handheld crank spreader, not liking how a drop spreader lacked control. This product changed my mind. Very easy to use, good control, and being so light, unused fertilizer can easily be poured back into the container. I liked it.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions, Quality, Value
