Easy to use and handles all kinds of products

I have used the EdgeGuard for about 3 years and it works great. Light weight, easy to dial settings, and it will handle everything from Lime to Bug control to Fungus Control product. The spreading patter is very even and gets the job done fast. I haven't seen a better spreader on the market than this one. After 3 years, no rusting parts, even from spreading lime.
Pros: Quality, Easy to Use, Effective, won't rust

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] just finished fall feeding using the mini spreader. works great good distribution and the edgeguard keeps product off sidewalk and driveway . Have been using Scotts spreaders for over 30 years, that says it all !!!

Excellent for the cost

I have the previous model without edge guard. It is small, super lightweight and easy to use. It holds enough for 5,000 s.f. I have a half acre yard with about 15,000 s.f. grass. I actually like this size. I buy 3 bags of which each cover 5,000 s.f. It is lighter to push, and I can better judge how much I am using by estimating how much I covered. It works perfect for me.

not accurately calibrated.

I have used this with fertilizer, halts, seed. Whatever I put in the spreader comes out at twice the rate it should. For halts the recommended setting is 2 1/4 and the 5,000 bag only covers 2,500 sq. ft. I tried lowering to 2 but nothing came out. I had a larger model for several years before moving and it was always accurate.
Cons: Didn't work as expected, not calibrated accurately
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
