Downsized to an 8,000 sq ft. lawn. The Mini is perfect size for my lawn. Spreader is sturdy and easy to use. The right blocking feature helps me keep from fertilizing the street and driveway. The folding handle makes storage on the wall of the garage very easy.
Pros: Value, Quality, Easy to Use, Effective
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Holds a 5000 bag, easy to push. The flow rate is easy to adjust, and the edge guard is a great option. No exposed metal should not coorode when used year after year. Maybe a tad short for people over 6 foot, you have to bend over slightly.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Quality
Cons: short handle
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While a little on the smaller side, not as small as mini might suggest works just as well as a full size. I used this to apply winterizer and it worked great. The edge guard worked well, no need to fertilize the street or flower beds.
Pros: Easy to Use, Value
I would recommend this to a friend!

Plastic Junk

I used this piece of junk three times before it broke. The spinner, which distributes the fertilizer snapped off where it meets the drive mechanism. DO NOT waste your money on this piece of junk.
Cons: Didn't work as expected, very poor construction, no warranty on this piece of junk
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

good value

this is the right tool for the job. i have a small lawn, maybe 2,500 sqft, so i dont need a heavy duty spreader.
the spreader mechanism uses plastic, so i expect it to eventually break, however no problems after 10 uses.
the mini spreader is inexpensive, light, easy to move around, and the hopper holds enough lawn treatment to cover my yard.
i have used it to spread pelletized lime and fertilizer, it works well.
Pros: Easy to Use, Value

TOO SMALL FOR LARGE LAWN
on June 1, 2012

Expertise:Beginner
Pluses: 1. Light weight 2. Mini size easy for storage 3. Spreads very evenly 4. EdgeGuard feature saves time and material 5. Easy to use.
Negatives: 1. For large lawn, larger size spreader more cost effective 2. Too small for my large 6000+ sq ft lawn for one application 3. Rotating feed tends to jam with granular fertilizer not from Scott. Need to stop and unjam with a screwdriver. 4. The wire controlling the on/off function broke after one application. Maybe is is not strong enough or may have been corroded while sitting in the store shelf.
Pros: Value, Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective
