Great spreader for the do it yourselfer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used many Scott's Spreader's in the past but the new spreader is amazing because the large dial on the unit is so easy to use. It has large numbers making it so easy to see when turning the dial. The large wheels make the unit a lot easier to push and turn. It spreads the fertilizer or grass seed with a nice even flow and has no messy clean up. Love this new product.

This spreader works great.

This spreader is perfect for smaller lawns. The edge guard is very helpful. It however does not spread salt or other snow melting products very well, it just does not get enough traction to turn the spreader.
Pros: Value, Easy to Use
Cons: no good for snow melting products

Nice concept, but cheap plastic parts

Worked great, for one time, then the plastic shaft to the distribution plate broke on my second use. Very disappointing. I don't understand how parts can be made so cheaply, and especially with the plastic that will clearly not last.
Pros: Easy to Use
Cons: cheap plastic shaft
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Carpal tunnel related injury after using the Scott Turf Builder

Used the spreader for only one hour and was overall satisfied with it.
Unfortunately within ½ hour I started to feel increasing pain in my right wrist and forearm more than likely related to a carpal tunnel injury. Some 8 hours later, the pain and the swelling has only increased.
I seriously wonder if any ergonomic attention was given to the spreader’s handle and the strength of its spring.

Easy to use and less mess with Edgeguard

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just picked up the Scotts® Turf Builder® Edgeguard® Mini Broadcast Spreader and used for the first time to put down my Scotts Winter Guard. The controls were easy to read and cross reference to the setting listed on the bag. The large hopper allowed me to do the entire yard with two fillings. The spread pattern was perfect, the Edgeguard feature really cut down on over spray of pavement and flower beds. Treatment went quickly and clean-up was easy. Really like the folding handle for storage. Very happy with the product.
