[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Scotts Turf Builder EdgeGuard Mini Broadcast Spreader was super easy to assemble out of the box. The design is very simple as well is the operation of the spreader. It will be very easy to seed my lawn as this spreader also has adjustments.

Works great and made yard work much easier!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This garden spreader works great and made dispersing grass seed much more convenient for me. It is lightweight and I could push it easily through my yard. You can set the edgeguard so that it only dispenses on one side if you prefer and the handlebar folds down for easier storage. Overall, this helped make yard work more efficient and I would definitely recommend it!

This thing works beautifully!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was recently gifted a Turf Builder Edgegaurd Mini complimentary from Scott's in exchange for my honest review. Scott's Turf Builder Edge Guard Mini is easy to use and provides excellent coverage. The EdgeGuard technology works as advertised, preventing the product from spreading to unwanted areas such as driveways, sidewalks, and flower beds. The spreader's compact size makes it easy to maneuver and store, and the adjustable handle and grip allow for comfortable operation.
The Scott's Turf Builder Edge Guard Mini is a reliable lawn spreader that delivers accurate and precise application of lawn products. It is an excellent choice for homeowners who want to maintain a healthy and beautiful lawn with ease.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With the distribution adjustment AND the Edgeguard® feature to protect valued plantings, and its compact size and shape, this Spreader can't be beaten. It's light enough for even this senior lady to maneuver nicely.

Works well, but needs more info on settings
on January 24, 2021

I bought this spreader two years ago. It works well but I have one major complaint. Scott doesn't provide any information on how to set the dial for non Scott products. I understand that the density and granularity of the product will affect the distribution rate but they should still be able to provide general guidelines. I want to use the spreader with a gopher repellant, which is a product Scout doesn't make.

BrentET, thank you for your review for Scotts® Turf Builder® Edgeguard® Mini Broadcast Spreader. We recommend a 50 X 20 Foot Test Area for other brand products that does not have a Scotts Spreader setting on the label. Instructions are as follows; place enough material in the hopper to cover 1,000 sq. ft. Place the spreader setting on a low setting (usually one-fourth of the spreader setting range or less). Spread the material over a 50 x 20 ft. area. If material is left over, the setting needs to be increased. If the hopper is emptied before the area is covered, the setting will need decreasing. While this is not a scientific method for getting the spreader setting, it will get you close to what the spreader setting should be. New Drop Spreader

My old AccuGreen spreader finally gave up the ghost after 15 or more years. The handle that controls the drop bar broke so that it would no longer pull the drop bar to dispense product. Consequently I just bought a new Scotts drop spreader. I was surprised to see the number of negative reviews and in particular the issue with calibration. So I decided to check the calibration on my new spreader. Obviously quality control is lacking at Scotts. My drop bar was at least a quarter inch from the calibration mark in the direction that would have dropped significantly more product than set for. I had to screw out the adjustment screw significantly to get the mark to line up with the drop bar. I would highly recommend that anyone purchasing a new spreader to be sure and check that it is properly calibrated. I also recommend that Scotts add this info to the sticker on the front of the spreader so that new purchasers know how to check and adjust the calibration. I'll update my review after using the new spreader this summer.
Cons: quality control lacking
I would recommend this to a friend!

Totally inadequate aplication rate

Brand new out of the box controls pre assembled, useing Scotts products, spreader delivered 5000 sqft of material in a 2000 sqft area. Walking rate was rapid, and wheel over lap less than reccommended. Directions said nothing about calibrating spread rate. Online chat sent me calibration directions. The only thing you buy a spreader for is to apply the material evenly and at the right rate. Good luck with this! This trulely a piece of junk!!!!
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
