This product doesn't work on wet turf.

I bought a Scotts Classic Drop Spreader, and in the early morning while my lawn was wet with dew, I sought to apply Scotts Turf Builder Weed and Feed. The application instructions state that it is best to apply the product when the grass is wet, however, the moisture clogs the spreader discharge holes preventing the Weed and Feed from evenly going onto the lawn even though I cut the grass well short before application. Works fine, unless the product is to be applied when the grass is moist, in which case the spreader is not good.

Great Little Spreader

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Scotts Turf Builder Edgeguard Mini Broadcast Spreader does an excellent job of applying a variety of lawn products. I have used primarily the Turf Builder Classic Drop Spreader in the past. The Broadcast Spreader allows me to work in areas of my lawn around trees, shrubs and landscaping that were difficult with the Drop Spreader.

This thing is awful

Doesn’t matter what setting you have it on it fails to spread fert. I set it where the bag said, weighed the correct amount for the square footage, spaced my passes correctly and still had more than half a tub left. Increased the setting for the next area and same thing. Also it likes to fling fert into the wheel wells so it give your yard nice stripes. Just not the kind one would want. It’s total junk. Don’t buy.

Bought this to use to replace another scotts spreader after moving. I used this to put down turf builder with halts, using the recommended settings on the bag. I now have a very nice striped lawn. I will have to redo the fertilizer to try to get rid of the strips. This is a terrible product.

Edge guard turns on by itself in the in the off position and dumps too much fertilizer. Return one already and 2nd one doing the same. very bad rating

ABOUT TEN YEARS AGO I BOUGHT A SCOTTS BROADCAST SPREADER AND A DROP SPREADER . THIS SPRING I NOTICED THAT THE HANDLE ON THE DROP SPREADER WAS CRACKED NOT ALLOWING THE GATE TO FULLY OPEN.I CONTACTED SCOTTS TO SEE IF THEY MADE ANY CHANGES TO THE HANDLE AND I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD SEND ME A NEW ONE AT NO CHARGE.AWESOME SERVICE GREAT PRODUCTS ,THATS WHY I USE SCOTTS.

I've used the cheaper stuff and it works okay but Scott's works really, really well even at less than the recommneded dose. Way better than the cheap stuff. I am thrifty but every couple years I used Scott's to bring it all back!
