Shrinkflation!!!

Scotts, you should be ashamed! When did you change the packaging from 5,000sqft to 4000sqft? Shrinkflation!! This 4 pack is now 4000sqft to small for my lawn.

Disappointed in Scotts, poor product.

Worst spreader I have owned. Replaced a Scotts metal spreader I had for 20 years. The calibration for the drop is incorrect and varies depending on the product. Constantly clogs on wet grass no matter the height of the grass. A simple fix would be bigger tires, but this option is not available. Do not buy this product.

Stripes-are-us!

I have stripes on my yard. It appears the spinning broadcasting disk tilts back and much of the fertilizer just comes out the back. Very disappointed and looking for an alternative, unless Scotts helps the situation. I had a previous version that worked great for years.

only for very small yards

so what are the product settings? how do set them based on a lb/sqft of product? a picture of the label does me no good.

Settings depend on things like the size and density of the fertilizer prills, plus how much lawn food your lawn needs. Since we can't test every spreader with every product, we recommend a simple test: Pour the amount recommended for 1,000 square feet into your spreader (check the bag for specifics). Start with a low setting (about 1/4 to 1/3 open). Spread the fertilizer evenly over a 1,000 square foot area (like a 50x20 or 33x30 section). If you ran out too soon, adjust the setting a notch lower. If you still have some left, go a notch higher. This helps you find the best setting for that specific product and your spreader. Remember, it's always better to start low and adjust up if needed.

Meh!

Product label reads, "See Mini Spreader settings on scotts.com." But the product page on scotts.com gives no information about spreader settings. Very frustrating and disappointing. Just need to know what the settings represent and how to determine which settings deliver more product and which deliver less without wasting product and damaging lawn and/or sidewalks.

Settings are based on the physical size of the openings in the spreader hopper and the amount of product disbursement needed. Since those things vary for each product, we provide all the settings for our spreaders on each of the product labels.

PUT THE SETTINGS IN THE PRODUCT WEB PAGE!

Seems like a fine device so far, but it's a little stupid and ridiculous that the sticker label on the spreader says to go to Scotts.com to find the correct dial setting and IT'S NOWHERE TO BE FOUND on the Scotts website. So, I'm just defaulting to the MIDDLE OF THE DIAL, having NO IDEA if that's the correct setting for what I'm doing.
I am on the product page right now, and none of the expandable sections have the settings chart. The search bar gives NO RESULTS for "Mini Spreader Settings". Seriously?
Big companies like Scotts that have multiple departments CLEARLY NOT TALKING TO EACH OTHER has come to be expected. Pathetic.
Hey, Scotts product developers.....How about this? WHY NOT PUT THE SETTINGS RIGHT ON THE PRODUCT STICKER? That way, nobody has to search your nearly useless website.
