Axle is easy to rust and wheels fail to rotate to drive the agitator.

Works well, spreads product evenly. However, there are no instructions on the spreader or this website that I can find that tells you what the numbers on the dial mean. How do you know you are spreading the right amount

Mini spreader worked but setting info impossible y

Mini edge guard Spreader work as advertised. But I too got very frustrated at not being able to find setting info for Scott’s weed and feed on neither the bag nor the website. I did some math based on estimates and set it at 4. Seems right amount.

I Will Avoid Scott's From Now On

Just received the spreader. It might work fine, but I'll never know, since there's no way to know how much product to put in it. But I'm sure glad Scott's says on the device to come here to find settings that aren't available--otherwise I wouldn't have bothered to leave a bad review. So thanks, Scott's, for more wasted time!

When applying a Scotts product, the spreader setting can be located on the product packaging. Our competitors' products and spreaders are constantly changing; therefore, making it impossible to test every product and spreader on the market. To prevent damage to your lawn, we suggest doing a 50 x 20 ft. test plot to assure that you are applying the product at the correct rate to your lawn. Place enough material in the hopper to cover 1,000 sq. ft. (Usually indicated on the bag of product, if not indicated, take pounds in bag and divide by the number of thousand square feet bag covers. Example: 23lb bag covers 5,000 sq. ft. divide 23 by 5 to get 4.6lbs per 1,000 sq. ft.). Place the spreader setting on a low setting (Usually one-fourth of the spreader setting range or less). Spread the material over a 50 x 20 ft. area (This is 1,000 sq. ft.). If material is left over, you need to increase the setting. If you come up short, you need to decrease the setting. While this is not a scientific method for getting the spreader setting, it will get you in the ballpark for the product or spreader.

NO SPEADER SETTINGS INFO AVAILABLF

No spreader settings available!!! I see others have already made the same complaint, but Scott's has NOT addressed it. I bought this last fall and burned my grass trying to guess what the right setting should be. All turf products aren't made by Scotts, so it's a no brainer on their part to address the issue. I bet they won't bother and don't care.

Abismal performance with grass seed

I bought this this drop spreader a few weeks ago and used it today for the first time to overseed with Scott's New England Mix grass seeds. The spreader wheel would not turn at all with a reasonable amount of seed in the hopper. It would only work with about 1/2 to 1 inch depth of seed and my full weight pressing down on the unit to make the wheel turn. When empty, it turned perfectly, but that its not what I bought it for.

This product is garbage

This is a terrible product. It doesn’t spread evenly. It dumped too much fertilizer in the center of the dispenser burning a straight line. It also made green stripes in other areas that got more fertilizer but not enough to burn. Worst fertilizer spreader on the market. Stay away from this poorly designed garbage

All of our broadcast spreaders under went a design change at the end of 2020 that changed rotor angle and changed the agitator back to a 2-wing agitator. These changes reduces the potential for the product to hit the wheels.
