Great Light Weight Easy to Use Fertilizer Spreader

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A wonderfully easy compact spreader to use. It folds up easy and is nicer to use since it has wheels rather than a hand spread. Also it is light weight. Since it is plastic it will not rust like metal spreaders can.

Perfect for small yards.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The turf builder edge guard mini spreader is perfect for small yards. I used it to apply Bermuda grass to my 400 yd.² grass area. I was impressed that it does not throw grass seed or fertilizer onto my patio or my shrubs.
It’s very easy to assemble, my 11-year-old granddaughter did it for me. If you have a small yard, this is the spreader for you. I would recommend this product to anyone with a small yard.

Easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This spreader is super easy to use and provides good coverage for my yard. I have used it for both fertilizing and grass seed and it’s sort of fun to push actually. Very pleased with this and it’s nice that the kids enjoy using it too.

Its easy to push and maneuver around my yard, works quickly and effectively for me to get the job done in no time. It spreads soul and fertilizer evenly so i dont have to keep going over it.

Bad wheels

I just recently purchased the mini turf builder and the wheels ķept coming loose. I had them on as tight as they would fit. Very annoying.

Works great but.....

A good spreader but I wish it would dissolve all the pesky LUMPS found in Scotts fertilizer bags.

Over the years, we have spent several millions of dollars trying to eliminate this problem through improvements in both our manufacturing plant and through packaging improvement. Need Calibration Instructions

It leaves stripes. I think it’s because the fertilizer gets stuck in the open wheels. I just have to go back between the strips with more fertilizer. I need to calibrate but can’t find what setting to put in on when you open the flow control to see if the line is even. Does anyone know? I search it and all that comes up is for a drop spreader. I have the edge guard mini.

To check if your spreader is calibrated correctly you will need a 1/4 inch drill bit. Set the spreader to 3. With the control lever trigger depressed the 1/4 inch drill bit should fit snuggly in the lower-left corner of the opening. The opening on the right side will be smaller. This is so more product is delivered to the left side of the rotor plate in order to create a more balanced spread pattern because the rotor plate spins counter-clockwise.
