I've had nothing but great results with this drop spreader. Disperses evenly and consistently and have had great results (of course using Scott's Lawn Products). Clear directions, easy calibration and easy cleanup... and my lawn shows it.
Pros: Value, Quality, Easy to Use

I would like to express my opinion about Scott’s drop spreaders. I had a 3000 Scott’s drop spreader, which could not put the right amount on most of the time. So hopping to make things better I bought a Scott’s Classic drop spreader, which looks like only the label was changed because it is just as bad as the other one. So I am going to give my opoin what I thing is the problem. If some of the fertilizer gets stuck between the hopper and the plastic bottom bar it will cause a 5000 bag be place on half of the area then it is suppose to cover. If it does put on less then it is suppose the small V shape opening of the bottom of the hopper gets plugged up. To solve the problem maybe there could be a door that would open to the front pushing the grass down so the bottom of the hopper stays dry and also a way to swipe the bottom of the in side of the hopper may also be a help. The hopper being made out of plastic may be OK but the adjustable bar at the bottom does not work and needs to be replaced with a stationary bar that regulates the flow of fertilizer being spread on the lawn. Also make the wheels larger so the spreader is higher off the ground so the bottom of the spreader will stay dryer. With all the technology that we have today it is hard to believe that this problem has gone on for as long as it has with out any changes being made to the design of this product. I am very disappointed in this company.

Unsatisfactory performance

This spreader was subject to blockage in the dispensing tray and the inability to remove the roller part made it impossible to clear the small apertures completely, thus affecting the spreading performance.
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I just got married and I fired the lawn service at my wife's house since they killed the lawn and I had to mend the lawn. So I bought the drop spreader and I tell you it works like a dream!! The fancy one's will over spread and this on just drops nice an even every time! You never miss with this puppy!! It built like a horse, I made sure everything was all tight and greased up like the one guy said on the review here, wash and dry it off, even waxed it ! though I wish the shaft was another 2ft long!! Our lawn will looks beautiful now!! I don't understand how people give bad reviews!!!!
