[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I prefer the drop spreader the the rotary as it allow me to place the fertilizers and weed control products where they need to be. This is a very efficient way for improving the health and look of your lawn.

Having a drop style spreader is great because the fertilizer and seed would go right where I want it to. I found this one easy to use with an accurate drop rate. The quality is not impressive for its impressive price but it works great. The one star reviews made me hesitant to purchase this but I'm glad I did. Also, make sure when you drop fertilizer that you follow your pathe exactly. I had someone help with my last application and now I can clearly see the path where fertilizer is and is not.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective

wheels "gritty" after a while

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] not a bad spreader.... not the best. the wheels "grit up" after a while and oiling doesn't help. this is an issue because the wheels drive the churning mechanism which allows the loaded product to drop when the chute is opened. i can deal with this but one of the wheels on mine is getting quite hard to push...
Pros: Easy to Use
Cons: Difficult to use

Cons: does not hold a whole bag of some materials

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my spreader for over 10 years and it still works like a charm. I have used grass seed, fertilizer and weed killer and all you need to do is rinse the blades and it's good to go next time.

I purchased a Scotts drop spreader about 25 years ago. I used it about four times a year. After each use, I always rinse it clean and spray it with WD40 as it is made out of metal. The device looks brand new other than the fact that some of the paint has been scraped away at the bottom near the rotor. This thing works like it is brand new. I had no idea that it would last this long when I bought it. It still spreads very evenly and I get the square footage of coverage that each bag of product suggests that it covers. Amazing.
Pros: Value, Quality, Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective
