Worked fine at first, but did not last

Always had to set for larger opening than recommended because it would clog. Then the wire on the control apparently stretched and I could only make it work by grabbing it and pulling it all the way - hardly the way to control. Then I took it out to use it this year and the wheel fell off, the axle had rusted (and I always kept it in a dry shed). Sad because in other ways it was easy to use and did not drop product where it wasn't wanted. Don't really want to buy another one but it seems no one else makes a similar product any more.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Directions, holds nice quantity
Cons: Didn't work as expected, Messy, clogged adjustment mechanism did not last rusted
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Puts the product right where it needs to be,on the ground. Not all over the place. Granted this is somewhat slower than the slingers, but it does not waste material, and it cost a little more. Try it you will like it.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

A must for your lawn care arsenal.

If you are a lawnaholic like me you must know the classic drop spreader is a must for your lawn care arsenal. I live in the city and have a double lot. The classic drop spreader is perfect for the small grass subway area between my sidewalk, and the curb. I use the drop spreader for this area because it goes directly onto the grass, and not onto my sidewalk or street. Using the drop spreader in this area I save more fertilizer for other areas of my lawn, and save time by not having to clean up the excess fertilizer that got onto the sidewalk and street if I used my broadcast spreader. Of course I use the broadcast spreader with edge guard for my large areas. I also use the drop spreader for the small areas around my raised garden, and raspberry bushes. This way I do not get any fertilizer in my garden, or on my plants. This ensures my lawn is green, and weed free around the garden. If you love your lawn, and take great pride and care like I do you MUST have the classic drop spreader to use in conjunction with your broadcast spreader with edge guard.
Pros: saves fertilizer, saves time

Top quality spreader!

This spreader is the best I've used since I've owned my own home. I use it to fertilize my lawn. I used to have a spreader that sprayed the fertilizer everywhere. This drop spreader keeps the fertilizer where it needs to be - on the grass! I highly recommend this product for anyone who fertilizers their lawn.
Pros: Quality, Easy to Use, Effective
