Very disappointed

Having 10,000 sf of turf to cover I purchased two 5,000 sf bags of turf builder. One bag was loaded into the hoper, and the spreader set as instructed on the package. What should have consumed both bags used only half of one. I will be returning the spreader to the big box store.
Pros: Easy to Use
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

LEAKS FERTILIZER STANDING STILL

I came to this website hoping to find a fix for my problem, but no luck. I had an old metal Scott's drop spreader for over 30 years and finally decided to replace it. After that many years the holes were getting enlarged from rust and it was time. I purchased the newer Classic drop spreader. A week after my first application of fertilizer I noticed dead spots all over my lawn. They were a couple inches by about 20 inches. Turns out that every time I parked the spreader it was still releasing fertilizer and burning the lawn. I put off using it again until I could investigate. At first I thought maybe it wasn't closing all the way after releasing the handle. It turns out it's closing but the plastic piece that's supposed to go across and cover the holes is warped and allowing fertilizer to continue to come out. I guess I'll go back to my old one and guess at new settings to allow for the larger holes. At least I won't burn the heCK out my lawn.
Cons: Didn't work as expected, leaks at rest
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great spreader - Great value

I purchased the Classic Drop Spreader to replace my Scotts Accu Green 1000 spreader. I wanted to replace the Accu Green 1000 because it doesn't work with grass seed.
The Classic Drop Spreader spreads grass seed and fertilizer, is bettero made than the Accu Green 1000, and the larger wheels handle the bumps very well. In addition the Classic Drop Spreader has a padded handle, adding luxury to lawn care!
Pros: Value, Quality, Easy to Use, Effective

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Before I purchased this spreader, I was using the Scotts hand held spreader for a long time. I always thought the classic drop spreader was too expensive. I am so glad that I purchased the drop spreader. It has great coverage and lets out just the right amount for the area you want covered. I introduced this spreader to a guy that was cutting my yard for a while. He takes excellent care of his yard and asked if he could use it because it works so well. I was thinking while his yard looks so good why doesn't he have one. I allowed him to use it and never got it back. So I know he is enjoying it as much as I did and I am sure he still has it because it is sturdy and performs great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My drop spreader arrived ready to use right out of the box. My first application was to put down some lime and the spreader worked without any problems. It was easy to set the drop rate and the large wheels made it easy to push along. Even the wife had fun. Can wait till growing season to put down some turf builder and nutrients.
Pros: Easy to Use, fold up provides easy storage
