Disappointed

The gap opening controlling the dropping of product is of uneven width, producing uneven application across the width of the drop. Also, with a fine size particle for delivery, I found that just sitting stationary this spreader dropping a fine stream of product. Very disappointed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great spreader, holds one entire bag of 5,000 square foot fertilizer. Edge guard is nice and works pretty good for directional control.
I have two spreaders, one for ice melt and one for fertilizer. Control dial has large numbers and stays in place during application.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions, Quality, Value

Good speader but handle too short

The spreader did a good job of evenly applying the fertilizer. The only problem is the handle is too short for someone over 6 feet tall. I felt like a hunchback walking behind the spreader. Maybe a product improvement would be an adjustable handle for taller people.
Pros: Effective, Quality
Cons: Difficult to use

Can be used for more than fertilizer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found the spreader to be easy to assemble and only took about three minutes to complete. I followed the direction on the winter fertilizer bag and set the spreader to the suggested settings. Filled the spreader and proceeded to fertilize my lawn. It worked very well and easy to maneuver around flower beds and along the driveway. My wife liked the Mini spreader because it was easier to use the a full size one. I also used it to spread some salt this winter.

Love the edge guard feature

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This spreader is so easy to use and switch from broadcast to edge guard which keeps fertilizer away from shrubs and flowers. I have always like the Scott's spreader and how easily you set the dial according to what the Scott's fertilizer tells you.
