Settings for Mini are Hard to Find

Both times I've used this spreader, I've spent an inordinate amount of time trying to find the settings for the Mini. It is not listed on the product packages unless it's supposed to be the same as the regular spreader. From Scotts page : "Spreader settings for Scotts® Lawn Care products can be found on the product package. You can also find spreader settings on our product information pages" - I don't see the Mini listed in either place

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scotts Turf Builder EdgeGuard Mini Broadcast Spreader is great for people with smaller yards, or tight landscaping areas. It was really easy to assemble, in about five minutes, and is ready to use immediately after. The settings allow me to accurately set it for the preferred application. I use it to spread grass seed, fertilizer, and weed and feed. It holds up to 5,000 sq. ft. of product. The Edgeguard feature blocks off the right-side of the spreader pattern, which gives me better control near plant beddings, and areas where I don't wish to apply the product. Works great and makes things a lot easier in the yard.

Great Spreader!

I am happy with how lightweight, yet sturdy the product is. The instructions were clear and the product is easy to use. The wheels are high-quality and make it easy to maneuver over my lawn.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scotts Turf Builder EdgeGuard Mini Broadcast Spreader was very easy to assemble. It is very light weight and helped me spread my grass seeds evenly throughout my yard. Very simple concept and gets the job done. Perfect for smaller jobs. The tires glide very smoothly and I had no issues getting around my yard to spread the seeds. I definitely recommend to anyone looking to invest in a light weight item that will get the job done.

Owned for a month. Used on front and back yards (with edgeguard off) to spread fertilizer and it leaves lines. I've recently read many people complaining about the same thing. Many people believe due to a poor design, fertilizer is getting caught up in the hollow wheels and getting dumped in straight lines.

I wash this unit out after each use. During use the shaft broke. When I took it apart I noticed the plastic sleave had some fertilizer get in between the shaft and the plastic bushing which dure to the friction of the turning shaft melted the shaft and it broke off. Cannot believe the designers though plastic on plastic was a good idea for shaft design. I would call this a disposable spreader.

So I bought a second one thinking there was a defect , the second spreader delivers the same striping and burning patterns as the first one .I have tried almost a running pace to deliver a more even broadcast . this spreader throws the fertilizer into the wheels which creates the striping pattern . This spreader is junk and poorly engineered . Dont waste your time and hard earned money on this product
