Perfect Size

One of the nicest features about this particular spreader is the edge guard. I no longer feel as though I am wasting fertilizer/weed killer in unnecessary areas. The ingredients are landing just where I need them, my lawn.

Perfect Drop Amount

I have an older drop spreader and the drop was inconsistant and the unit was hard to manuver; I had decised to hire a company to care for my lawn feeding. Then I tried the Scotts Turf Builder Edgeguard Mini Broadcast Spreder. It's very easy to assemble, no mechanical ability needed - less than five minutes from box to ready to spread.
The next step is to select the correct weed and feed. I've tried several brands, a few very well known names and more expensive. Your best bet for maximum results is to find the Scotts Turf Builder best suited for you climate. I'm in FL so I used Bonus S Southern Weed & Feed. I wasn't able to apply fertilizer last fall due to local restrictions and some heath issues so dollar weed and a few other wild growths were about to own my grass.
The Bonus S Southern Weed & Feed has specific instructions and spreader settings on the bag. Unlike my old spreader I was able to apply the Bonus S Southern Weed & Feed with much more presision. The gate (the small door that allows the weed & feed to drop) is precise allowing no spills - let go of the gate clutch and it closes! The Edgeguard Mini Broadcast Spreder also has a built-in side guard to prevent application to areas where the application is not needed and it is easier for me to push around my lawn and gardens. I'm glad I didn't hire the local lawn spray guy. The job was easy, but more importantly, I got the quality product I wanted where I wanted it.

Easy to Use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this product it is easy to use. Handles fold down for easy storage. Very lightweight components are mainly plastic and the edge guard comes in handy when spreading fertilizer near the sidewalk or edge of driveway.

Perfect for small lawn

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a very small lawn. But it still needs fertilizer, treatments and reseeding in the spring and fall. This mini broadcast spreader is perfect for me and my sized lawn. You could use it for a bigger lawn, you'll just have to refill it more often. It's easy to use and doesn't take up a huge amount of space.

Edgeguard saves fertilizer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Small spreader for 5K yards and smaller. Completely setup and ready to use out of the box. The edgeguard is on the right side and can be turned on and off with a slide of a switch. Very useful along driveways and sidewalks. The handle folds for compact storage. When paired with Scotts turfbuilder it will turn your grass dark green.
