Clogs easily

Is high humidity supposed to affect this spreader’s ability to drop product? It clogs way to often.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with our product and appreciate your feedback. It is likely that the spreader itself is not being affected by the humidity level, but rather the product you are spreading with the spreader being impacted.
Any moisture that gets in the product will make the granules lump together. When it dries out, it forms hard clumps. If the product is stored in high heat or humidity or gets rained on, this can happen. Another possible cause is the product being stored on a concrete or cement floor or leaning against a wall made of either material. Concrete/cement draws moisture and can increase the chance of moisture getting in the bag. When purchasing the product in person, be sure to inspect the bags for signs of rips or other damage.

Cheaper than a treadmill!

This is my second try, maybe it won’t accept a one star! Had for several years, it cost so much I keep trying and wasting money on Scott’s products! Constantly clogged even when doubling the setting!

Worst Spreader on the Market

The Worst Spreader! Bought this and over concentrates fertilizer on the paths I walk. My yard looks like a giant checker board. I tried filling the cavity wheels with expanding foam to help and didn't help. DONT BUY IT.

Rusted after just a few uses

Very disappointed with this product after using it only a few times. My previous spreader lasted for many years, but the metal axle on this product rusted very badly even though I washed it well after each use. The corrosion was so bad that the axle expanded on the drive wheel bushing to lock up the spreader mechanism. It also expanded the white bushing on the drive gear such that the gear froze on the gear box housing. I disassembled and sanded down the bushing areas to loosen it up, but it will happen again.
Just a poor choice of material for a part that is exposed to corrosive salts. The bolts attaching the bin to the frame are nice and shinny (probably stainless steel), and the plastic parts are in great shape, but the axle is a critical weak point! My previous spreader lasted for many years. This on

No setting info

Bought this mainly for salting my sidewalks. There is no information on what setting to use for ice melt. Ice melt would not have a spreader setting. Only info in the box was how to put wheels on. A hint on what setting to use would be nice. The label only says turn to correct setting.

Not as good as old drop spreader

Not happy with this spreader. The design allows the body to sit too low. So when grass is damp, as per instructions, the weed and feed clogs up and won’t come out thru the holes. The spreader is worthless and it’s past time to return it.

Very Disappointed

Bought this today and used it to put Scotts Foundation on my lawn. It was very hard to push. Very exhausting. THe right wheel tends to skid. There is something wrong with this spreader and I can't recommend it. Unless Scotts can tell me how to fix it, I plan to return it.
