Stripes of dead grass!

After applying fertilizer, I found 4" wide stripes of dead grass, each stripe 5' from the next stripe. (Each pass of the spreader was 5' from the previous one.) I'm guessing that excess amounts of fertilizer came out the center of the spreader and killed the grass. Ugh! Obviously, I'll never use this spreader again.

Wheel connector parts get corroded in one season. Can not find parts and do not know how much will it cost and where I can purchase. Wheel assembly came off from the handle bar, they could have used better paint.

Not accurate

If you follow the directions for the setting I end up with 1/3 of the bag leftover when there shouldn't be any left.

Buy This Spreader if You want a Lawn with Stripes

The spreader distributes the material into the wheels so it drops down directly under the spreader and does not apply evenly. I now have a lawn with stripes. Did Scotts ever test this? Waste of money.

Terrible design - do not buy this?

The part that rotates to distribute product is too low -- the product you are trying to spread hits the wheels and most of it falls between them. You end up with strips that have too much product and strips that have virtually none.

Calibration setting of 8 is WRONG

Had a 3000 spreader until it rusted out.........got the Turf Builder and set at 8 calibration.....got half the coverage ............had to water double to prevent burning......this is NOT a reliable spreader...............you have to calibrate for each different product put down

Not worth the money

My son told me to take a coffee can and punch holes in it BUTT no i had to buy a spreader that dont work worth a darn I should have listened to him

Terrible product

I bought this spreader because my property is too mall for a broadcast spreader and there’s way too much waste. This spreader doesn’t spread at the rate the settings claim. The wheels arent big enough and wet grass causes the product to clog the opening. Also the spreader doesn’t close when the fertilizer gets stuck in the opening which allows for the fertilizer to keep falling out when you’ve released the handle. This thing is garbage. Should’ve just kept the rotary spreader.
