Spread it around easily with the Mini

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great little spreader. It holds a complete 5,000 sq. ft. bag of Scott's fertilizer. The Edgeguard works great, just side it over to prevent fertilizer from spreading onto driveway or sidewalk. It's great for those hard to reach spaces for my tractor drawn spreader. It would be be great for smaller sized yards. Light weight and easy to push for this 82 yr. old guy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] From the start, this spreader was easy, dynamic, and outstanding. It was easy to assemble, and easy to use. It worked great from the start. It rolled well, and spread evenly and in a radius that was appropriate.

Bought early spring used for Scott’s weed and feed. The plastic spinner broke during the 2nd use with Scott’s lawn food. Everything plastic and not durable

Doesn't work
on June 12, 2019

I bought the spreader one month ago will not spread any product other than turf builder, not seed ,not other fertilizer, not lime. Though turf builder product works best when sticking to wet weed leafs, the slightest amount of moisture on the spreader is plugged, spreading unevenly if at all, the spreader does more damage than good

Great if you like your lawn to have zebra stripes
on July 15, 2019

I bought this Edgeguard Mini to replace my Scott Basic that stopped working. As several other reviewers have pointed out, the fertilizer does NOT spread evenly, and in fact leaves a fertilizer trail in between the wheels. The result? Deep green fast growing, overly-fertilized stripes of lawn and light green pale, under-fertilized stripes. The lawn looks terrible. I have used Scott products for years, but I cannot understand how anyone can give this poorly designed spreader a positive review. My beautiful lawn is ruined for the season...

NOT FOR SPREADING GRASS SEED!
on September 19, 2019
Posted by: Colin K
Don't buy this like I did expecting it to properly dispense grass seed, because it won't. The instructions label is somewhat misleading, as it states "fill hopper with Scotts Turf Builder product". This really means fertilizer products only, not grass seed, which just gets ground up and destroyed by the hopper agitator. There should be a statement on the labeling, warning against its use for spread seed!

Zebra Striping

I bought this spreader. And I’ve been expiriencing a lot of issues with striping. This seems to be an issue with this spreader, as I’ve read a lot of similar stories online. Is there a way to get a refund for a better spreader or something? I use a lot of Scotts products and I would like the spreader to keep up with the quality of those products.

Terrible

Save your money. The fertilizer hits the guard and the wheels and drops large amounts of fert. Between the wheels. If it’s hot it will burn your yard or you’ll have bright green strips in your yard. Terrible design. How did this get by them
