Compact Spreader Built for Small/Med Lawns

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The product is lightweight and spread spread rate dial options are optimal, especially when used with Scotts products. This is made for small to Medium sized lawns and the edge finction works beautifully. It allow the user to control "over spray", especially when you are spreading fertilizers and don't want to get it on driveways and sidewalks that would need to be swept away. This product is definately a step ip from the hand held spreaders. The unit is compact and handel easily folds down for even more compact storeage that saves you space in your shed or garage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The turf builder edgeguard makes putting anything that needs to be spread on the lawn so easy. From grass seed to fertilizer to insect control products, the spreader can handle it all with ease. It puts product down evenly so you don’t have clumps or piles of product in any particular area of your lawn, which saves product as well as not burning your lawn due to uneven spread. Great product and highly recommend.

I bought the Scotts mini spreader at a big box store last month. It was assembled and sitting with others on the floor. I went to use it today and nothing would come out. I ended up using my neighbors spreader which worked fine. Am I doing something wrong? I got no instructions with this and assumed it was ready to go?

The spreader has one drive wheel, the other wheel free turns and does not engage the gearbox therefore does not turn the rotary plate or agitator. If the agitator is not turning when the spreader is pushed forward there could be a problem with the gearbox. We would like to gather some additional information and help troubleshoot.

Better than Expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Despite the smaller width then their other edgeguard model, the Mini Broadcast Spreader makes seeding a more enjoyable experience. You have slightly better control over the spread with the smaller volume spreader. EdgeGuard ensures you don't get seed in your bushes, or walkways. Less sweeping, less cleanup. I used to use a cardboard piece my son would hold up along the edges as I went by, but with this reliability of the EdgeGuard, I have no need to assistance anymore. If you have a larger lawn, then go with the full size EdgeGuard option, but for anything less than 1,000 sq feet, this is the perfect size spreader.
