Poor Quality

I have had two edgeguards. Scotts replaced the first one. A great concept as it allows you to put the products down where they are suppose to be. Neither spreader lasted three years. The control that regulates the opening size gets stuck. The spinning device gets stuck and won't rotate properly thereby the product comes pouring out. The spreader will fall over it you are not careful. It simply is too flimsy to be a smooth operating device. Scotts should beef this thing up, get rid of the plastic tires, charge more money for a better lasting product and I would be happier paying for something that actually works. I am now a happier owner of a different brand of spreader.
Pros: Easy to Use
Cons: won't last, too flimsy, falls over if not careful, the controls are the first thing to go, get some duct tape and wd-40
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been using this Scott's spreader for a few years now with all of Scott's fertilizer products. Consistently works great. Easy to adjust settings. Edge guard works great too. Keeps fertilizer on the lawn instead of on the street, walkway or neighbors yard.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions, Value, Quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this spreader last fall and used 1 time. This spring I used it and the wheels(yes both wheels) came off. The right side a lot more than the left. My lawn is about 3/4 of an acre. And it came off probably 25 times before I could get the fertilizer on. I forget how much I paid but thought it would last for several years. But this spreader is a waste of money.
Cons: Didn't work as expected, Difficult to use, very poor construction

First Time Using Brand New Broadcast Spreader.

I used my new spreader on my half acre lot this past weekend and have mixed feelings about it. The spreader worked fine as I expected however, the height of the handle is inadequate given it is not adjustable. I am 5'11" tall and I had to stoop and lean over to push the spreader. I am also 66 years old so I had to take several breaks.
Pros: Effective, Quality
Cons: Difficult to use, handle is too short. needs to be adjustable.
